Babar Azam Reacts To India Degrading Pakistan Cricket Comment In ODI World Cup 2023

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is slated to be played in India and the hosts will certainly like to end their 10 years ICC trophy drought by winning the World Cup. One match that is getting a lot of attention is between arch-rivals India and Pakistan and it will be played on 15 October 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

India is being considered as the favourites to win this match as it has dominated Pakistan in the World Cup tournaments whether it is ODI or T20I excluding the only instance of 2021 T20 World Cup in which Pakistan defeated India.

Babar Azam, the Pakistani skipper who has just returned from Haj attends a press conference ahead of the Sri Lanka series and when he is questioned about the chances of Pakistan winning a trophy after getting close on the previous two occasions and that too in India where Pakistan cricket has been degraded, the Pakistani skipper states that he has been hearing a lot about it but they are going to play the World Cup and not going to play against one team. Other than India, there are many other teams as well against which Pakistan has to play and only after defeating them, the Pakistani team will be able to play the finals.

Babar Azam made it clear that the Pakistani team will focus on 10 teams and not just on one team.

Pakistan has been making a lot of noise in regard to the match which will be played against India at Ahmedabad as it has demanded to change the venue citing security concerns.

Babar further adds that their thought is very simple, they have to go and play wherever the cricket matches are being played. He goes on to say that as a professional cricketer, it is their job to be ready to face challenges regarding conditions and environment and as a player and as a skipper, he aims to perform well for his country, win matches and make Pakistan dominate.
