Vendor Caught Refilling Water In Used Bottles & Selling Them To Passengers In Jabalpur Station
There are thousands of people who travel by train or bus in India every day and it is not possible for everyone to carry water. Even if a person carries a water bottle for journey, it may get finished in few hours especially in summers and then they are left with the option of either refilling their bottles with tap water which is available at railway stations or bus stands or they can buy mineral water.
While tap water may not be a healthy option, a mineral water bottle is easily available as many shops sell it and it also gives a sense of security as people believe that mineral water is hygienic.
However, people who buy mineral water bottles need to be a little cautious as there is a report as per which an illegal bottle vendor from Jabalpur has been captured in a video in which he is seen collecting the bottles thrown by people and then filling them with water from drinking water stall of railway station and then selling them to customers.
These bottles are not sealed and vendors target mostly those passengers who travel in the General coach. When the team of a news portal talked to a person who bought this used bottle, he said that he is coming from Nagpur and he bought in a hurry as the train was about to leave.
The team of the news portal brought this incident into the notice of Jabalpur division’s senior DCM, Dr Madhur Verma, he took prompt action and the illegal vendor was arrested by the RPF. He assured that a campaign will be carried out against such illegal vendors and strict action will be taken against them.
He also asked the passengers to be cautious while purchasing mineral water bottles and buy only sealed ones and they should also ensure that they buy things only from those vendors who are wearing ID cards.
Customers should also make sure that before throwing water bottles, they destroy it so much that it can’t be used again and one of the best ways to do that is to push the cap of the bottle inside the bottle as the cap won’t come out without cutting the bottle and it will render the bottle useless.
