Salim Khan Opens Up On His Inter-Faith Marriage With Sushila Charak Aka Salma Khan

The Khan family of Bollywood which is headed by Salim Khan is one of the most influential families of Bollywood, while Salim Khan is a renowned screenwriter, his eldest son Salman Khan is one of the biggest superstars of the country.

Salim Khan has two other sons as well – Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan and though they are also famous, they are not as successful as Salman Khan. Salim Khan also has two daughters – Alvira and Arpita.

Recently, Salim Khan appeared in his son Arbaaz Khan’s show where he talked about many things including his marriage with Sushila Charak whose name got changed to Salma after marriage with Salim Khan.

Salim Khan stated that before they both started seeing each other, he decided to meet Salma’s parents because in his opinion, it was not correct to keep her parents in dark about their meetings. However, he added that he got a little scared when he visited Salma’s house because there were many people and he felt that all the Maharashtrians from the country have come there and this made him a little nervous.

Salim Khan said, “Before our courtship, I told Salma I want to meet your parents as hiding and meeting is a wrong thing. So when I went to her house, I felt all the Maharashtrians from India were there. I was very nervous about seeing so many people.”

Salim Khan revealed that Salma’s father was not happy because they belonged to different religions but Salim Khan convinced him as he told Salma’s father, “My father-in-law told me that I was a nice guy but religion was the problem. I was 24 at that time. I then told him, ‘Doctor sahib, meri aur aapki beti ke 1760 problems ho sakte hai, but religion will never be one of them.”

Salim Khan and Sushila Charak aka Salma got married in 1964 and they became the parents of Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira.

Salim Khan also talked about his marriage with Helen which was his second marriage and he said that he himself told Salma about his relationship with Helen because he didn’t want her to know through gossip magazines.

He also said that Salma was the first one to embrace Helen, Salim Khan and Helen got married in 1981 and Arpita who is married to Aayush Sharma is their adopted daughter.
