Sharp Metal Blade Found In Food Served By Air India, Airline Revealed Where It Came From

There have been many instances in the past in which we have seen that some unusual items have been found in food items, for example a lizard was found in samosa, a piece of chicken was found in a paneer (vegetarian) dish, etc.

Most recently, we came across an incident in which a piece of human finger with nail was found in an ice-cream cone but now we are going to tell you about a more shocking incident as an Air India passenger found a blade in the food served to him by the airlines.

The passenger’s name is Mathures Paul; he wrote about the incident in detail on X and also shared the photos.

His tweet read, “Air India food can cut like a knife. Hiding in its roasted sweet potato and fig chaat was a metal piece that looked like a blade. I got a feel of it only after chewing the grub for a few seconds. Thankfully, no harm was done. Of course, the blame squarely lies with Air India’s catering service but the incident doesn’t help the image I have of Air India. What if the metal piece was in the food served to a child? First picture shows the metal piece that I spat out and the second picture shows the meal before it put metal into my life. @airindia”

Soon Air India responded to Mathures Paul’s post and they wrote, “Dear Mr. Paul, we are sorry to know about this. This does not represent the level of service we aim to provide to our passengers. Please DM us your booking details along with your seat number. We’ll ensure this matter is promptly reviewed and addressed.”

Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Air India said that after investigation, it has been found that the foreign object which was found in the meal of a passenger came from a vegetable processing machine which is used by one of their catering partners. He also confirmed that Air India has already taken steps to ensure that such incidents don’t happen again.
