USA Players Determined To Play Fearless Cricket, Want To Make Maximum Use Of T20 World Cup 2024

The T20 World Cup 2024 is going to start from tomorrow and this time, it is being hosted by USA and West Indies, the first match of the tournament will be played between USA and Canada at Grand Prairie Stadium, Texas.

Though both the teams are making their debut in the T20 World Cup, the pressure is more on USA as they will be performing in front of their home crowd. The American cricketers understand pretty well that this is the best time for them to increase the popularity of cricket in USA.

During a press conference, the vice-captain of the USA team, Aaron Jones stated that they are pretty determined to play positive, smart and fearless cricket in the tournament. He added that they don’t want to regret anything and they will like to leave everything out of the stadium, it will be great if they are able to come on the top but if they are not, then it is also fine as this is how cricket is but they just don’t want to regret anything.

This is certainly a big moment for the USA cricket as Jones said that for the last couple of years, they have been talking about playing the World Cups, getting test status and playing the T20 World Cup is definitely a big moment for them, in fact it is the highest point of the USA cricket till now.

USA is in Group A along with Ireland, Canada, Pakistan and India and there are high chances that India and Pakistan will proceed to the next stage of the super eight.

Aaron Jones understands that the American cricketers have a great responsibility to fulfill as they are ambassadors of the game. He said that what they do on the field is important but their off-the-field behaviour is also important, especially in a country that doesn’t know much about cricket.

Jones said that they want to get the support of more and more fans, from the American born and raised people and for this, they will need to play good cricket and by interacting with fans as well.

As far as India is concerned, India will play its first match on 5 June against Ireland and on 9 June, it will play against its arch-rival Pakistan and USA will clash against India on 12 June at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.
