Rahul Dravid Feels Virat Kohli’s Big Knock Will Come In The T20 World Cup Final

The Indian cricket team has certainly performed brilliantly in the ongoing T20 World Cup as it has not only remained unbeaten in the tournament till now but also entered the finals of the tournament.

Yesterday, the Indian cricket team defeated the English side by 68 runs in the semi-final match which was played at Guyana National Stadium and Axar Patel was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his superb bowling as he ended the match with the figures of 3/23.

However, Virat Kohli’s form has been a big concern for the team as he has failed in making an impact with the bat in the tournament. India’s star batter has scored only 75 runs in 7 matches and this is certainly far below than his own standards. The expectations were pretty high from Virat Kohli as he was in sublime form in the IPL 2024 and he also won the Orange cap award for being the highest run-getter of the tournament.

The Indian head coach Rahul Dravid talked about Virat Kohli and said that he feels Virat has saved the big knock for the finals. In his words, “You know with Virat, the thing is, when you play a slightly high-risk brand of cricket there can be times when it doesn’t come off. Even today, I thought he hit a good 6 to set the tempo but he was just unlucky that the ball seamed a little bit more. But I love the intent, I love the way he went about doing it. It sets a good example for the group as well if he’s willing to do it”.

Rahul Dravid further said, “And you know, for some reason, I don’t want to jinx it but I think there’s a big one coming up. I’m just loving his attitude and that he’s committing himself on the field – I think he deserves it”.

As far as the semi-final match between India and England is concerned, India batted first after losing the toss and posted a total of 171/7 on the score board with the help of Rohit Sharma’s brilliant knock of 57 runs (39 balls, 6 fours & 2 sixes). Suryakumar Yadav also played a good knock of 47 runs (36 balls, 4 fours & 2 sixes) along with the useful knocks of Hardik Pandya (23 runs, 13 balls. 1 four & 2 sixes) and Ravindra Jadeja (17* runs, 9 balls, 2 fours).

However, the England team could manage only 103 runs in 16.4 overs in the rain-affected match and now India and South Africa will fight the final battle against each other to lift the trophy on 29 June at Kensington Oval, Barbados.
