Based on the novel by A.M. Shine, the Watchers marks the directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan with Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell, and Oliver Finnegan, among others. The supernatural movie shows a 28-year-old woman who gets trapped in a gloomy and desolate forest in Ireland. She meets three other strangers with whom she shares a camp. Each night, they are followed by mysterious creatures from which they have to protect themselves. 

4. Maharaj

Movie | Releasing – 14 June 2024

Maharaj will be the debut movie of Junaid Khan, the son of the famous Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. Directed by Siddharth Malhotra, the movie follows Karsandas Mulji, a social reformer and advocate of women’s rights. Set in 1862, it is based on true events around the libel case. It shows Mulji’s acts of courage during the time when India had only three universities. 

5. Chandu Champion

Movie | Releasing – 14th June 2024

Based on the real-life story of Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar, Chandu Champion gives Kartik Aaryan a new role to shine. The movie shows the journey of the athlete as he faces unimaginable hurdles in his path but does not break down or stop from achieving his dreams. With the direction spearheaded by Kabir Khan, the movie will be released in cinemas on 14th June.

6. I Used to be Funny

Movie | Releasing- 18th June 2024

I Used to be Funny is a comedy-drama that nevertheless focuses on important issues of overcoming one’s fear following Sam, a stand-up comedian who is dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. When the teenager she is babysitting goes missing, Sam has to deal with her fears to overcome the challenges. The movie will be released in cinemas in the United States.

7. Federer: Twelve Final Days

Documentary | Releasing- 20th June 2024

A treat for tennis fans around the world, the documentary is based on Roger Federer’s life. It captures the life of the player in the last 12 days of his professional career, ending with the Laver Cup in 2022. The documentary will be released on Amazon Prime Video. 

8. Kinds of Kindness

Movie | Releasing- 21st June 2024

Starring Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, and Jesse Plemons together, Kinds of Kindness is an absurdist anthological movie with three different stories. The first is about a man who decides to take charge of his life after leaving his powerful boss. The second is about a man suspicious of his partner when she, an imposter, although so for the right reasons, returns after being reported missing. The third is about a cultist who is searching for a person with the ability to resurrect the dead. The movie seems to be very interesting with a new concept and will be streaming in cinemas starting on 21st June. 

9. My Lady Jane

Drama Series | Releasing- 27th June 2024

Based on the life of Lady Jane, famously known as “Nine Day’s Queen,” for getting the throne of England and Ireland for 9 days in the 16th Century, the drama series shows the journey and adventure of the noblewoman during the time when she was viewed as a threat to the Crown. She must try to protect herself from the execution that seems to be following right behind her. The series will be streaming on Amazon Prime. It seems like a refreshing series, especially if you like period dramas like Bridgerton.
