Vinod Kambli At Risk Of Brain Stroke, Friends Create WhatsApp Group For Financial Aid
Life has taken an unexpected turn for Vinod Kambli, once known for his brilliance on the cricket field. Today, at 54, he is focused on something far more personal, regaining his health while dealing with memory loss and serious medical concerns.

Vinod Kambli’s health issues became widely visible last year during an event in Mumbai, where a memorial for his childhood coach was unveiled. At the gathering, he appeared weak and struggled to walk without support. Standing beside his close friend Sachin Tendulkar, he needed assistance just to stay steady. The images quickly spread online, sparking concern among fans and the cricketing community.
Following that moment, several cricket legends stepped in to offer help. Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev were among those who reached out, hoping to support Vinod Kambli in getting proper care and rehabilitation.
Vinod Kambli had already faced a major health scare earlier. In 2024, he was treated at a private hospital in Thane for a serious urinary infection. Since then, his condition has shown gradual improvement and those close to him remain hopeful about his recovery.

However, the challenges are far from over. According to his friend Marcus Couto, Vinod Kambli struggles with memory issues. While his condition has not worsened in the past six months, it has not significantly improved either. He often forgets important things and daily life can become difficult unless something triggers his memory.
One of the biggest concerns is his health risk linked to a clot in his brain. Doctors have warned that this condition could lead to a brain stroke in the future. Although Vinod Kambli has managed to stop drinking alcohol, he sometimes forgets that he should avoid smoking. In such moments, he has reportedly asked strangers, including auto drivers, for cigarettes, unaware of the harm it could cause to his already fragile condition.
His friends have been actively supporting him during this phase. A group has been formed where close associates contribute financially to ensure he receives the care he needs. They also keep a close watch on his habits, trying to prevent actions that could worsen his health.

Efforts were also made to enroll him in a rehabilitation program. In December 2024, Vinod Kambli had agreed to an offer from Kapil Dev to join such a program. Members of the 1983 World Cup-winning team were ready to help him get back on track. However, despite good intentions, the plan did not move forward due to unresolved discussions.
Despite everything, there is still hope. Those around Vinod Kambli believe that his determination and inner strength are helping him fight this battle. His journey now is not about runs and records but about resilience, recovery and the will to keep going.;-
