India’s Ex-Bowling Coach Makes Big Statement Regarding Arshdeep Singh’s Test Debut
Arshdeep Singh, the young Indian pacer is one of the rising talents of the Indian cricket team and he has proven his worth many times, he also played an important role in India’s win in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Arshdeep Singh took 17 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2024 and helped his team in lifting the trophy and after the tournament, he expressed his desire to represent the country in the longest format of the game as well.
The 25 years old pacer who represents Punjab in domestic cricket and Punjab Kings in the IPL has played 16 first class matches and has taken 49 wickets.
Recently, the former bowling coach of the Indian cricket team, Paras Mhambrey gave an interview to a leading portal and when he was asked about the chances of Arshdeep Singh playing test cricket for India, he said that it all depends on the conditions. Paras said that if India decides to play with four pacers in Australia, then Arshdeep may get a chance but this doesn’t seem to be a case if we talk about his chances of playing a test match in India at the moment.
Paras also feels that Arshdeep Singh needs to play domestic cricket more in order to get more control on his swing and also to learn reverse swing which will be very handy in long term. Paras is of the opinion that at the moment, Arshdeep may not look a starter but he is not far away provided he works on his fitness and maintains it.
Arshdeep has represented India in 52 T20I matches and with 79 wickets, he is currently the fifth leading Indian bowler. He has also played 6 ODIs in which he has taken 10 wickets and we think that he should listen to Paras Mhambrey’s advice and play more domestic cricket in order to increase his chances of playing in test matches. What do you say?
