Brett Lee Praises Jasprit Bumrah, Calls Him Exceptional & The Best Fast Bowler In All Formats
Rohit Sharma-led Indian team had scripted history last month as they managed to win the second T20 World Cup after 17 years. India won its first T20 World Cup in the year 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
With this win, India also ended the 11-yr drought of the ICC trophies as the last ICC trophy that India won was Champions Trophy 2013 and that too was won under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
Rohit Sharma has become the third Indian skipper after Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni to win a World Cup and there is no denying the fact that the Indian team deserved to win the trophy as they remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.
All the players of the team contributed in the best possible manner and the Indian bowling attack led by Jasprit Bumrah also played an important role in India’s win. Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian pacer was adjudged as the Player of the Tournament as he took 15 wickets at a superb economy rate of 4.17. This performance of Jasprit Bumrah also helped him in winning the ICC player of the month (June) award.
When Australia’s former pacer Brett Lee was asked to name the current world’s best pacer in all the formats, Brett Lee showed no hesitation in taking the name of Jasprit Bumrah.
Brett Lee says that in his opinion, Jasprit Bumrah is just exceptional, currently he is the best bowler in all the formats and he also leads the attack. Brett Lee further says that Bumrah has the ability to bowl at an amazing pace and he can also shape the new ball away. Brett Lee praised Bumrah for his performance in the T20 World Cup and said that his performance also showed his leadership qualities as he took 15 wickets at a remarkable economy rate. He further said that Bumrah was just superb and India deserves all the praise for their accomplishments.
Brett Lee also applauded the Indian batting order as he said that their batters can dominate at any position and the Indian middle order is filled with big hitters who can score runs at high rate.
The three senior cricketers, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja have taken retirement from the T20 format and now they will focus on ODIs and test matches. The Indian team is undergoing a transition phase as a young and less experienced team headed by Shubman Gill is currently on a tour to Zimbabwe where they will be playing 5-match T20I series. As of now, the Indian team is leading by 2-1 and the fourth match will be played on 13 July.
We certainly agree with Brett Lee and there is simply no doubt that Jasprit Bumrah is the best pacer of the world across all the formats.
