Salman Butt Tells ‘Huge Difference’ Between Virat & Rohit, Takes ‘Laid-Back’ Dig At Rohit-Dravid

The recently concluded West Indies tour of team India has left the Indian team management with many questions to answer as the Indian team’s performance in the ODI and T20I series was below par. The situation is more concerning as the Indian squad has to take part in the Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and it won’t be wrong to say that many Indian cricket fans have left the hope of India winning these events.

The Indian team hasn’t won any ICC trophy since 2013 and fans were very hopeful of getting good results when Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head coach of the team as he did a great job while working with the junior and Under-19 teams but the Indian team’s performance is diving downwards under Rohit-Rahul duo.

India has already lost the T20 World Cup 2022 and the WTC final 2023 under this new leadership which has been slammed a lot for conducting many experiments in their tenure.

Though the Indian team is facing many injury issues, still losing an ODI series to Bangladesh was never expected from them. India’s performance in the ODI series against West Indies was quite disappointing and this team becomes the first Indian team to lose a bilateral series against West Indies in the last 17 years after West Indies won the 5-match T20I series by 3-2.

Recently, the former Pakistani cricketer Salman Butt shed his opinion on the current Indian team and he also spoke about the times when Virat Kohli used to lead the team.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Salman Butt stated that Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri also failed in making India win an ICC trophy but during their regime, the Indian team had a spark which is missing now.

The former Pak skipper states that one thing is pretty clear which is that the Indian cricket team is not as aggressive as they used to be under Virat-Ravi; in fact there are times when they look laid-back and very much relaxed. Salman Butt adds that earlier the Indian team had aggression in regard to their body language but now there is no aggression in the Indian players in the current set-up.

Salman Butt also compares Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as he says that there is a big difference in the fitness and energy levels of both the leaders which is visible in their body language and it has an effect on the players as well.

Well, whatever the case may be, the Indian team management has to resolve the issues as soon as possible otherwise we may get to see repetition of the 2007 ODI World Cup in which India got knocked out in the league phase.
