“Don’t Make Silly Statements,” Venkatesh Prasad Hits Out At Pandya & Management For Series Loss
The Indian cricket team’s T20I series loss against West Indies hasn’t gone well with the Indian cricket fans and many former Indian cricketers. The former Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad has been quite unhappy with the Indian team for some time now and after Hardik Pandya-led team lost the fifth T20I of the series, Prasad once again repeated his ordinary team remark.
In a series of tweets, Venkatesh Prasad slammed the skipper for being clueless and also lashed out at the management for making many changes and doing experiments. In addition, Venkatesh Prasad talks about India’s ODI loss against Bangladesh and also writes that he hopes the management will introspect rather than just making silly statements.
He tweeted, “India has been a very very ordinary limited overs side for some time now. They have been humbled by a West Indies side that failed to qualify for the T20 WC few months back. We had also lost to Ban in the ODI series. Hope they introspect instead of making silly statements”

Reacting to another person’s tweet, Venkatesh Prasad stated that not just ODI World Cup but WI also failed to qualify in the T20I World in last Oct-Nov. He further adds that hunger and fire are missing from the current Indian cricketers and we all are living in illusion.
His tweet read, “Not just 50 overs, West Indies had failed to qualify for the T20 World cup last Oct- Nov as well. It pains to see India perform poorly and brush it under the carpet, under the garb of process. That hunger, fire is missing and we live in an illusion.”

When an online user asked Prasad to give his views on the Indian captain and team management, he didn’t mince any words in calling them responsible for the debacle, adding that words like process are misused. Former Indian pacer also referred to MS Dhoni and said that there is no consistency left in the selection process.
He wrote, “They are responsible for the debacle and need to be accountable. Process and such words are misused now. MS meant it, guys now just use the word. There is no consistency in selection, random stuff happening too much”.

In his last tweet, Venkatesh Prasad says that the Indian team needs to improve their skill set, the skipper was clueless and a player shouldn’t be selected just because he is the favourite of someone in the management.
He tweeted, “India needs to improve their skill set. There is hunger & intensity deficiency & often the captain looked clueless. Bowler’s can’t bat, batsmen can’t bowl. It’s important to not look for yes men and be blinded because someone is your favourite player but look at the larger good”.

Well, West Indies won the 5-match T20I series by 3-2 and it is really a matter of concern for the Indian team as soon they will be participating in the Asia Cup 2023 and then the ODI World Cup will take place in India from 5 October.
