Dodda Ganesh Supports Rahul Dravid, Hits Out At Critics Who Target Coach For Hardik’s Act
The Indian cricket team is standing on the edge of losing a bilateral series against West Indies in the last 17 years as they will face the West Indian cricket team in the third T20I of the 5-match series today at Providence Stadium, Guyana. Team India had to hold themselves responsible for this situation as it is happening because of their poor performance, especially of the batters. However, the captaincy of Hardik Pandya is also under scanner as he has made some poor decisions during both the matches and the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid was also slammed for the experimentation in the batting order.
The Indian side is facing many problems because of the injuries of their star players, earlier there was news that KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will be back in the team before the Asia Cup but as per some reports, they both won’t be available for the Asia Cup because of which the Indian team management has to carry out experiments for finding the right combinations.
After the Indian team’s poor performance in the shortest format, few former cricketers have started questioning Rahul Dravid’s credentials as a coach in the T20Is and there are some fans who are of the opinion that he will bring back the memories of the 2007 World Cup in which India was knocked out of the league phase.
While the majority of the former Indian cricketers are not happy with Rahul Dravid, one former Indian cricketer Dodda Ganesh has come out in his support and tweeted, “Stop admonishing Rahul Dravid for every damn thing. He had no role in the captain juggling his bowlers today. Of late, Rahul has become a soft target only because he doesn’t say much in the media”.

Dodda Ganesh is correct as the coach has no role in the decisions that a captain takes on the field but Twitter users didn’t agree with him. Here are some reactions:
Everybody takes blame. No point shielding one person and blaming another.

But he does. Strategy, choosing the team and whom to bowl in the death overs are, I'm sure, discussed and debated with the coach before the match. Your goal should be winning the match you are playing, not something else like trying out combos for future matches.

It's not only about captains juggling of bowlers. It on overall aggression and team decisions in WTC Final and this tournament. The impact is visible.

On the contrary i feel Dravid gets away with so many things coz of his image & the kind of batsmen he was back in his days…Ravi Shastri had to endure much more during his tenure

Exactly at time of Kohli captaincy every blame used to go to him……..but now no one talks about captain every blame going to coach …….

Playing kishan ahead of Jaiswal is the mistake of Dravid n that too after jaiswal playing so well in tests n he also had a great IPL

Stop blaming the captain too. He took a decision but Bowlers failed him

If Dravid starts saying a lot in media will that help?
He’ll be roasted even more given the current trend…..#DoddaMathu— Nordic CricPundits (@CricPundits) August 7, 2023
Disagree. If he was a foreigner or a lesser cricketer, he wd hv been sacked by now.

Had it not been for his past records, Dravid would have been fired a long time ago. He is a failed coach and must be replaced ASAP.

Many feel that the Indian team lost the match when Hardik Pandya decided to stick with the pacers rather than giving 18th or 19th over to Yuzvendra Chahal. There was a time when WI needed 23 runs of 24 balls to win the match and Yuzi had one over remaining but Hardik Pandya kept pacers in attack despite the fact that Yuzi had taken two wickets earlier and he still had one over remaining.
What is hurting Indian fans more is the fact that the Indian team which is being cited as the favourites to win the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has lost to a team which has even failed to qualify for the World Cup.
Let’s see what happens today at Providence Stadium, Guyana. All the best to team India!
