“Won’t Be Able To Go Home,” Litton Das’ Sharp Sledge Leaves Md. Rizwan Shaken In Mirpur Test
Pakistan’s second innings in the first Test against Bangladesh at Mirpur saw tension, pressure and a bit of humour behind the stumps. Chasing a target of 268, Pakistan were struggling badly at 121/5 when wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan walked in to steady the innings.
Mohammad Rizwan had earlier scored 59 runs in the first innings but things looked very different this time. Bangladesh players sensed the pressure and Litton Das added to it with a funny but sharp sledge from behind the stumps.

While speaking to spinner Taijul Islam during the 38th over, Litton Das joked that Pakistan were now only trying to survive rather than win. He also teased Mohammad Rizwan about the criticism he was already facing back home, saying that if he played an attacking shot and got out, people would not spare him.

The comment quickly grabbed attention because Mohammad Rizwan looked cautious throughout his innings. He struggled to rotate strike and managed only 15 runs from 46 balls.

A few overs later, the pressure finally got to him. Young fast bowler Nahid Rana produced a brilliant 147 kmph delivery that completely surprised Rizwan. Expecting the ball to continue straight, the Pakistan batter shuffled across and left it alone. Instead, the ball jagged back sharply and clipped the top of middle stump.
Mohammad Rizwan stood stunned after the dismissal, while Bangladesh celebrated a huge breakthrough in a match that was rapidly slipping away from Pakistan and eventually Bangladesh won the test match by 104 runs.
That was really savage from Litton Das, what do you say?
