“Rs 1200 Saved,” Man Chooses Dhurandhar 2 Over Hotel After Vaishno Devi Yatra Halt

When travel doesn’t go as planned, some people panic but others find clever ways to adapt. One pilgrim’s recent experience proves how a small change in mindset can turn a problem into an opportunity.

Madhav, who had traveled for a spiritual visit to Vaishno Devi, found himself in a tricky situation upon arrival. He discovered that the pilgrimage had been temporarily suspended, meaning night darshan wasn’t possible. With no immediate option to continue his journey, he needed a place to stay.

However, nearby hotel rooms were priced at around ₹1,500 for the night, which felt expensive for a short, unexpected halt. Instead of spending that amount, Madhav explored alternative ways to pass the time comfortably.

He chose to watch a late-night screening of Dhurandhar 2, which cost him only ₹300. The film, running for 3 hours and 49 minutes, helped him spend most of the night in a relaxed and entertaining way.

By making this choice, he effectively saved ₹1,200 while also keeping himself engaged. Madhav, who was accompanied by another devotee, shared that the decision allowed them to rest without overspending.

He took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared the incident, “Vaishno Devi aaya tha, lekin yahan aake pata chala ki yatra band ho gayi hai. Raat ko rukne ke liye hotel lena padta jo ₹1500 ka tha, toh maine 300 mein Dhurandhar 2 ka night show book kar liya. Hotel ke ₹1500 bach gaye, ₹300 mein movie bhi ho gayi ₹1200 save bhi ho gaye,  Ab pehle aaram se movie dekhunga, phir subah 3 baje line mein lag jaunga, yatra card lunga aur seedha darshan ke liye nikal jaunga”

He also planned his next steps carefully, after the movie, he intended to wait until around 3 a.m., get his yatra card and then proceed for darshan without delay.

Soon the tweet went viral, Madhav got popular as many big media houses published articles based on his post. Madhav also revealed that when he informed his father about getting viral on the Internet, his father’s reaction was that of a typical Indian father.

Madhav tweeted, “Maine papa ko bataya ki maine X par ek post kiya tha, aur uski wajah se main national news mein aa gaya unko maine news articles bhi dikhaye. Maine unhe lagbhag 5 minute tak sab explain kiya phir wo ek minute ke liye chup ho gaye aur pehla sawaal ye pucha, ‘isse kya milega, kuch milega isse?’”
