When Salman fell, the instructions from the dressing room seemed clear—accelerate the scoring. Shaheen Afridi, taking this directive to heart, smashed 29 off just 24 balls, including a four and two sixes, before Masood called for the declaration.

The decision to declare with Rizwan unbeaten on 171 sparked some debate, with many fans on social media questioning why the captain didn’t allow Rizwan to chase a well-deserved double century. However, Saud Shakeel later clarified in the post-day press conference that Rizwan had been informed of the declaration plans an hour before it was executed, indicating a well-considered team strategy.
