OG Ram Arun Govil Slams Adipurush Makers For Making Hollywood Ki Cartoon In Ramayans Name
Om Raut directed “Adipurush” which released on 16 June 2023 has earned around Rs. 340 crore in its opening weekend but the movie is getting a lot of negative feedback and not just common public but many celebs and politicians have also spoken against the film.
“Adipurush” is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana and the lead actors Prabhas and Kriti Sanon have played the role of Bhagwan Ram and Maa Sita. Saif Ali Khan has played the character of Raavan, Sunny Singh has played the role of Lakshman and Devdatta Nage has portrayed Bhagwan Hanuman.
The makers are getting slammed for distorting the facts in the name of creative liberty, characterization, poor VFX and cheap dialogues. Earlier the teaser of “Adipurush” was not received well by audiences and at that time, the makers postponed the release citing that they will look forward to resolve the issues. At that time, director Om Raut and writer Manoj Muntashir stated that they are modernizing Ramayan for the sake of making it popular among youngsters but it seems that their move has backfired as even youngsters are slamming “Adipurush”.
Now, actor Arun Govil who played the character of Bhagwan Ram in Ramanand Sagar directed television series Ramayan (1987) has given his reaction on Adipurush. Arun Govil not only slammed the director Om Raut for making a Hollywood cartoon movie but he also asked as to what the need to modernize the mythological story was. Arun Govil also asked the makers that in their opinion, what was wrong in the depiction of Ramayan which people have known for years and they love it as well. He clearly stated that the makers of “Adipurush” have made such changes in their movie because they have no faith in Bhagwan Ram and Maa Sita.
