Javed Akhtar Reveals Time Taken To Write Tumko Dekha Toh & It Will Make Your Jaw Drop

Javed Akhtar, the senior lyricist has written lyrics for many hit songs but do you know that many times he has written a song in less than 10 minutes.

Recently, Javed Akhtar attended an FICCI event in Kolkata and while speaking at the event, he talked about the times when he was mostly under the influence of alcohol. He said that he had to write a song for Yash Chopra’s movie and every evening when Yash Chopra’s assistant used to visit him and request him to write the song, they both used to drink till 2 am and then the assistant used to leave after they both decided that they would finish the song next day. Javed Akhtar said that he was delaying it but one day the poor person asked once again. Javed Akhtar said that it was around 12:30 am, he asked for a pen and paper and then he wrote the song in just 9 minutes, that too, after having 8 or 9 pegs.

Javed Akhtar also told that the song that he is talking about was “Tumko Dekha Toh Ye Khayal Aaya” and it was sung by Jagjit Singh.
