Indians Hit Out At Barmy Army For Trying To Troll Virat Kohli While Praising Moeen Ali
The cricket teams of England and Australia are clashing against each other in the prestigious Ashes series and the first test match of the five-match series is being played at Edgbaston. The English cricket squad has been playing aggressive cricket in test matches since the appointment of Brendon McCullum as the head coach of the team and in the first test match also, they tried to pressurize the Australian side by scoring fast and then declaring their first innings at the score of 393/8.
The Australians had a bad start as they lost opener David Warner at the score of 9 and Marnus Labuschagne got out for a duck. Steve Smith also failed in making a big score as he was dismissed at the score of 16 runs. There was a time when the Australians were struggling at the score of 67/3 and this made many English fans including Barmy Army very happy.
Barmy Army is a group of English supporters and they are known for making distasteful tweets, especially when it comes to Indian cricketers.
The English spinner Moeen Ali has come out of retirement for playing the Ashes this year because England’s lead spinner Jack Leach is injured and he won’t be available for the series. When Moeen Ali bowled his first over in the match, Barmy Army made a tweet to celebrate his comeback but the gif which was posted by Barmy Army also targeted the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
The gif showed Moeen Ali dismissing Virat Kohli and the caption was, “Mo back with the red ball in hand”.

The gif is from the test match which was played between England and India at Chepauk stadium in 2021. Batting first, India scored 329 runs with the help of Rohit Sharma’s 161 and in this innings, Moeen Ali dismissed the then skipper of the Indian team Virat Kohli for a duck. England could manage only 134 runs in their first innings and with the help of R Ashwin’s century, India gave a huge target of 482 to England for winning the match. India won that match by 317 runs as England got all out at the score of 164 runs.
Soon the Indian Twitterati got into action and this is how they reacted:
England lost this match miserably with huge total were in no match for India in this match. And why are using @imVkohli fame and celebrity to welcome your guy that too in Ashes match?? Virat is one of greatest, hardworking & disciplined sportsman.

Talking about the match, Australia has reduced the lead by 26 runs as they have scored 367/6 by the time this article was written. Usman Khawaja (139*) and skipper Pat Cummins (27*) are on the crease and both the teams have equal chances of winning the match.
