Man Scams Chhattisgarh Govt, Registers As Sunny Leone, Husband’s Name Jonny Sins, To Get Rs. 1K
The cases of online scams are increasing day by day as scamsters are coming up with new methods to cheat the public but one person from Chhattisgarh came up with an idea of scamming the state government.
In this online fraud, a man has reportedly been receiving Rs 1,000 monthly from the Chhattisgarh government under the guise of actress Sunny Leone. The payments were made through the state’s Mahatari Vandan Yojana, as per a report by a leading publication.
An investigation into the Mahatari Vandan Yojana website revealed a registered beneficiary under the name Sunny Leone, with her husband listed as Jonny Sins. These details were flagged during a routine website scan, leading to the discovery of the irregularity.
The fraud has prompted an official inquiry. Bastar Collector Haris S confirmed that they are investigating the matter and a senior police official from Bastar stated that action would follow if a formal complaint is lodged by the district administration.
Amid the controversy, Chhattisgarh Congress president Deepak Baij raised allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a post on the micro-blogging site X, Baij claimed the scheme was being misused to benefit BJP supporters. He stated that the Mahatari Vandan money is getting collected by BJP’s favourite people in the name of Sunny Leone.
This incident highlights concerns over the verification process for beneficiaries of government schemes and raises questions about potential political misuse.
