Sachin Tendulkar, Shoaib Malik Praise Ajay Jadeja– The Mind Behind Afghanistan Defeating Pakistan

The Afghanistan cricketers and their team certainly deserve appreciation and applause for the wonderful manner in which they have performed in the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as they have surprised everyone by defeating the defending champions England and Pakistan.

Afghanistan defeated England by 69 runs in the match which was played on 15 October at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium and it defeated Pakistan yesterday in the match which was played at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai.

There is no denying the fact that the Afghanistan cricketers have worked very hard and improved their game so much that now they can’t be called minnows but there is one person who also needs to be praised for the success of Afghanistan and he is none other than former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja who is currently the mentor of the Afghanistan cricket team.

Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary former Indian cricketer took note of the role played by Ajay Jadeja in the growth of Afghanistan cricket and he wrote a tweet in which he not only praised the Afghanistani team but Ajay Jadeja as well.

Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “Afghanistan’s performance at this World Cup has been nothing short of outstanding. Their discipline with the bat, the temperament they’ve shown, and aggressive running between the wickets reflects their hard work. It could possibly be due to a certain Mr. Ajay Jadeja’s influence. With a formidable bowling lineup, their victories over teams like England and Pakistan indicate the emergence of a new Afghanistan team. The cricket world is taking note. Well done!”

It’s not just Sachin Tendulkar who talked about and praised Ajay Jadeja but Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik also mentioned about him while speaking on a show. Shoaib Malik said that he has seen Ajay Jadeja sitting in the dug-out of the Afghanistan cricket team and it is really good to have right people around the team. The 41 years old Pakistani cricketer further said that he has worked with Ajay Jadeja in 2015 in one of the channels of India and he is a great cricketing mind.

Ajay Jadeja’s knock of 45 runs (25 balls) against Pakistan in the quarterfinals of the 1996 World Cup is one of the memorable knocks by any Indian batter as it helped India in defeating Pakistan.
