Jos Buttler Asks Babar Azam To Translate Rohit Sharma’s Reply To Journo That Made People Laugh

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has started today with the first match of the tournament being played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. 10 teams are participating in the tournament and yesterday the captains of all the teams were brought under one roof as they attended the Captain’s Day Event. The event was moderated by the former Indian cricketer and former head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri and former England Skipper, Eoin Morgan.

Mediapersons asked many questions to the skippers and one journalist asked a little weird question to the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. The journalist talked about the 2019 ODI World Cup final which was played between England and New Zealand. The match got tied and then it again got tied in the Super over and England was declared the winner on the basis of number of boundaries scored by them.

The journalist asks Rohit Sharma if he thinks that both the teams should have been declared the winners, the Indian skipper seems to be confused with this question and he asks Ravi Shastri, “What is this question?” After that, Rohit addresses the journalist and says that it is not his job to declare anything.

While everyone presented over there started laughing after seeing Rohit Sharma’s expressions, the England skipper Jos Buttler was not able to understand as the conversation took place in Hindi so he asked the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam who was sitting beside to him to translate for him.

Here is the video of the funny incident:

As far as the opening match is concerned, the toss was won by the Kiwis and they decided to bowl first. Batting first, England posted a total of 282/9 on the scoreboard in their 50 overs with the help of Joe Root’s smashing knock of 77 runs which he scored in 86 balls and his innings included 4 fours & 1 six. Matt Henry was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand as he took 3 wickets for 48 runs in his 10 overs.

The Kiwis have lost their first wicket quite early as opener Will Young has got out for golden duck but Devon Conway (74*) and Rachin Ravindra (70*) are batting pretty well and New Zealand has scored 145/1 in 19 overs.

It seems the Kiwis will take revenge of the 2019 WC finals, what do you think?
