5 Times Ravichandran Ashwin Shut Down Online Trolls In The Most Epic Way

Ravichandran Ashwin, the Indian cricketer, played an important role in India’s win in the second test match against Bangladesh which was played at Mirpur’s Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium and as a result, India whitewashed the series by 2-0. The 36 years old Indian spinner was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his all-round performance as he took 6 wickets in the match and also played an important knock of 42* runs in the second innings.

One of the finest all-rounders

R Ashwin is certainly one of the finest all-rounders of present times and he has proved it on many occasions. He has made his international debut in 2010 and since then, he has played 88 test matches, 113 ODIs and 65 T20Is in which he has taken 449 wickets, 151 wickets and 66 wickets, respectively. As far as his batting is concerned, he has scored 3043 runs (5 centuries/13 fifties) in test matches, 707 runs (1 fifty) in ODIs and 184 runs in T20Is.

What makes him different from other cricketers?

One thing which separates Ravichandran Ashwin from other cricketers is the fact that he is a smart cricketer who knows how to take the benefit of the laws of the game. In 2019 when he mankaded Jos Buttler in an IPL match, the majority of the cricket fraternity was against him but he stood his stance firmly and maintained that whatever he did was correct as it was within the laws of the game and he will do it again if he gets the chance to do that.

Perfect response to trollers:

Ravichandran Ashwin is also one of those few cricketers who choose to respond to trollers and give them the taste of their own medicine. It won’t be wrong to say that he has been savage at times and today we are going to share 5 such instances when he gave kickass responses to trolls.

1. Ashwin shuts down Nibraz Ramzan:

Sri Lankan journalists Nibraz Ramzan and Daniel Alexander are quite critical of the Indian cricket players and recently when Ashwin was honoured with the Player of the Match award in the second test match, Nibraz suggested the Indian cricketer that he should have given Player of the m#atch award to Bangladeshi player Mominul Haque who dropped a catch of R Ashwin. He further wrote that if Mominul had caught that catch, the Indian team would have been all out for 89.

In response Ashwin wrote, “Oh no! I thought I blocked you, oh sorry that’s the other guy. What’s his name?? Yes Daniel Alexander that’s the name!! Imagine what you both would do if India dint play cricket” with laughing emojis.

2. Ashwin trolls Rajasthan Royals:

As we told earlier, R Ashwin mankaded Rajasthan Royals’ Jos Buttler in an IPL 2019 match and this led to a huge controversy but Ashwin remained unaffected by it. The official Twitter handle of RR tweeted, “No points for guessing who is adding this to their cart for #IPL2020” in response to a tweet from an online user which had an image of a box full of cricket balls with Mankad being written on the balls.

Ashwin responded with, “Might well be a good collection for the non strikers who meander along. Good banter nevertheless wish you all a happy 2020.”

3. He is the one who has got records:

Ravichandran Ashwin has a great bowling record on the Asian pitches and though he has bowled well in Australia, his record is not so great there simply because the pitches over there are more conducive for pacers rather than spinners. In 2018 before India registered its first test series win in Australia, two Twitter users tried to troll Ashwin, the first one said to the Indian spinner that he used to get hit for sixes in Australia when Ashwin talked about the big sizes of grounds in Australia and in response Ashwin talked about his bowling records of last series.

Soon another user asks him how many wickets he has taken in Australia against Australia and in response, Ashwin states, “I am the one whose got the records, please go and take a look. I can’t Google you and find you”.

4. Learn from Moeen Ali:

In 2017, a Twitter user suggested Ravichandran Ashwin to learn something by seeing Moeen Ali bowl and the Indian spinner responded with, “I tuned in after he finished his spell on purpose.”

5. Let’s accept each other’s drawbacks:

In 2016 when R Ashwin was growing as a cricketer, one user tried to troll him by saying that he was not happy with his selection as the team needed a spinner and not only a batsman. The Tamil Nadu cricketer shut down the troll by talking about his grammatical mistakes. Here is what Ashwin tweeted, “I am also not satisfied with your English and grammar mistakes, what to do? Let’s accept each other’s drawback and co exist.”

Ashwin is really savage, what do you say?
