Harry Brook Ready For Captaincy, Iceland Cricket Takes A Jibe, “Nightclubs, Beaches &….”
England batter Harry Brook has found himself at the centre of attention, not only because of growing speculation over a leadership role but also due to a viral social media jab. Shortly after reports identified Harry Brook as the frontrunner to replace Ben Stokes as England’s Test captain, Iceland Cricket took a humorous swipe at him on X, sparking widespread reactions online.

The cricket board joked that if Harry Brook were to captain England in all three formats, the team’s schedule would feature “nightclubs, beaches and police stations” rather than just cricket venues.
Iceland Cricket’s tweet read, “Harry Brook ready to lead England in all three formats. That’s nightclubs, beaches, and police stations.”

The remark quickly gained traction across social media, with many linking it to reports that Harry Brook was allegedly involved in a physical altercation outside a nightclub in Wellington in late 2025, only hours before England’s third ODI against New Zealand.
Despite the online banter, Harry Brook made it clear that he would gladly accept the opportunity to lead England’s Test team if offered the role. Speaking ahead of England’s opening T20I against India, he described captaining the national side in the longest format as a “great honour” and a “privilege” while stressing that the final decision rests with the selectors.

Harry Brook also revealed that outgoing skipper Ben Stokes had given him his full backing for the Test captaincy during his final press conference as England captain. Meanwhile, Harry Brook is set to lead England in the first of the five-match T20I series against India on Wednesday at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.
