KP & Nasser Hussain Back Virat Kohli Over Skipping First 2 Tests, “Some Things Are More Important”

The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has pulled out of the first 2 test matches of the 5-match series against England due to some personal reasons and there are speculations that Anushka Sharma is pregnant for the second time and he must have skipped the matches to be with her when she gives birth to their second child.

Though the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has requested everyone to respect the privacy of the cricketer and his family, there are some who are slamming Virat for leaving the Indian team in such an important test series as it will play a good role in their World Test Championship campaign.

Amidst all the backlash and criticism, the two former England cricketers, Nasser Hussain and Kevin Pietersen have shown their support for Virat Kohli.

Recently, KP took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “If a sportsman pulls out for personal reasons, RESPECT IT! End of!”

Though Kevin Pietersen did not write anybody’s name, many feel that he is talking about Virat Kohli as they both share a good bond.

Nasser Hussain also supported Virat Kohli by writing in a column that some things are more important than cricket. Nasser also referred to the England cricketer Harry Brook who pulled out of the series due to personal reasons. Nasser writes that his first thought is that he wishes Virat well as he has also pulled out just like Harry Brook for personal reasons and everyone should respect their decision because some things are more important than cricket.

However, Nasser is also a little happy as he sees some hope for the England cricket team to win the first two test matches due to Virat’s absence. He says that undoubtedly, the Indian team will miss him because any team will suffer if a player of Virat’s caliber drops out of the team; however, at the same time, England will certainly have a chance in the first two matches of the series which they will begin as underdogs.

Virat Kohli and Anuskha Sharma were also invited for the Pran Prathishtha ceremony of Bhagwan Ram in Ayodhya but they were missing from the event and this further strengthened the speculations that they both are going to embrace parenthood for the second time soon.
