When Yash Chopra Surprisingly Revealed, “Rekha Is Amitabh Bachchan’s Girlfriend”

The link-ups, affairs and break-ups are pretty common in Bollywood but there are some love stories which are very special and people discuss about them even if they get old.

One such love story of Bollywood which didn’t have a happy ending was the alleged love story of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. Though Amitabh has always refrained from talking about this aspect of his life, Rekha in her biography has talked about her love for Amitabh.

While nobody prefers to talk about the extra-marital affair of Amitabh and Rekha, there was one person who shocked everyone by revealing the truth about it. That person is late Yash Chopra, the famous director-producer of Bollywood who departed from the world in the year 2012.

Yash Chopra directed one of the biggest hits of all times “Silsila” (1981) in which Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha had an extra-marital affair; while Amitabh was married to Jaya in the movie, Sanjeev Kumar was Rekha’s reel hubby. Yash Chopra stated in that interview that he was always scared while making “Silsila” because the real life was turning into reel life. He said that while Jaya is AB’s wife, Rekha was his girlfriend and the same thing was going on in the flick. He further said that anything could have happened between them as they were working together.

The famous director further said that if a male and a female act in romantic scenes, then it is not possible that they don’t have a relationship. He added that though it was not so open in the past as it is in the present times, nobody cared in the old times.

On the other hand, Rekha has openly accepted her love for Amitabh Bachchan and in her biography, she has talked about the incident when Jaya Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan and his parents came to watch the trial show of “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”. Rekha said that while she was sitting in the projection room, Jaya was sitting in the front row and Amitabh with his parents was sitting behind her because of which Rekha was in a better position to look at Jaya.

Rekha further said that during the romantic scenes between her and Amitabh, Jaya was crying and tears were rolling down her cheeks. Rekha stated that after one week of the trial show, everyone from Bollywood was telling her that Amitabh told the producers that he would not work with Rekha anymore.

The actress added that when she tried to ask Amitabh about this, he said that he would not say a word so she should not ask anything to him.

Well, not everyone in this world is lucky to get true or first love.
