Siraj Revealed His Words To Litton Das Which Led The Latter To Charge At Indian Pacer

The Indian cricket team is in a great position against Bangladesh in the first test match of the 2-match series which is being played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, as the Indian bowlers have wrapped up the hosts at the meager score of 150 in their first innings.

After winning the toss, the Indian side decided to bat first and posted a good total of 404 runs on the score board with the help of brilliant knocks of Cheteshwar Pujara (90 runs), Shreyas Iyer (86 runs) and Ravichandran Ashwin (58 runs). Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav also played useful knocks of 46 runs and 40 runs, respectively and helped their team in posting a good total.

In response, the hosts had a tough time as they lost their opener Najmul Hossain Shanto on the very first ball of their innings which was bowled by Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj who went on to dismiss two more Bangladeshi batters – Zakir Hasan and skipper Litton Das. However just before Siraj dismissed Litton Das, he got engaged in the verbal duel with the Bangladeshi skipper. Litton Das played a defensive shot on the bowling of Siraj and then the Indian pacer said some words to Litton Das after which he marched towards the Indian pacer but the on-field umpire intervened and stopped the Bangladeshi captain.

In the press-conference, Mohammed Siraj was asked by mediapersons as to what he said to Litton Das to which Siraj laughed a little. Then he replied that he told Litton it is not T20I cricket, it is test cricket so play sensibly.

In his words,

“No, nothing. I said, ‘Ye T20 format nahi hai, ye Test cricket hai (this isn’t T20, this is Test cricket). Play sensible cricket.’”

When Siraj dismissed Litton Das on the next ball, he made the finger on lips gesture and Virat Kohli also joined him for taking a perfect revenge.

While Mohammed Siraj took 3 wickets in Bangladesh’s first innings, Kuldeep Yadav took his third fifer in test cricket as he ended the first innings with the impressive figure of 40/5.

By the time this article was written, India had scored 184/2 with Cheteshwar Pujara (50) and Virat Kohli (1) on the crease. Shubman Gill is back in the pavilion after scoring a century (110) and as of now, India is leading by 442 runs.

Do you think Bangladesh has any chance of winning or drawing the match as it is the 3rd day of the test and it won’t be much difficult for the Indian bowlers to take 10 wickets if they have a target of more than 500 runs to defend? Let us know your views.
