Twitter Roasts Jos Buttler Like Never Before For Repeatedly Leaving Crease Early
Netizens are not very happy with the skipper of the England cricket team Jos Buttler despite the fact that he was the Player of the Series in the recently concluded 3-match T20I series against Australia which England has won by 2-0.
The third T20I which was played yesterday at Manuka Oval got washed away due to rain because of which Australia’s desire of ending the series on a winning note got thrashed. Jos Buttler has been adjudged as the Player of the Series and in this match also, he played a brilliant knock of 65 runs not out (41 balls, 7 fours & 1 six) and helped his team in putting up a score of 112/2 on the board in 12 overs. However, the match was stopped in the 4th over of the Australian innings because of rain; the hosts had lost 3 wickets by then at the score of 30.
Jos Buttler found himself in the center of controversy after Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc threatened to run-out him if he did not stay in the crease while standing at the non-striker end. Mitchell Starc made a reference to the Indian woman cricketer Deepti Sharma while warning Jos Buttler but the English skipper responded by saying that he didn’t think he left the crease before the ball was bowled.

Though Mankading is now termed as run-out and it is absolutely within the laws of the game, there are many who are of the opinion that it is against the spirit of the game.
Deepti Sharma dismissed Charlie Dean in the same fashion in the last and 3rd ODI of the series which was played at Lord’s. Former English cricketers and media left no stone unturned in criticizing her but Deepti had complete support of her skipper, team management, Indian fans and former Indian cricketers.
Jos Buttler has a pretty good experience of Mankading as in the IPL 2019, the Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin mankaded him in a match which was played between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). While R Ashwin was slammed a lot, he made it clear that he had not done anything wrong and he would do it again if he gets a chance to do that.
Netizens trolled Jos Buttler for not being able to stay in the crease before the ball is bowled by the bowler and here are some selected reactions:

After getting warnings so many times ,getting run out by Ashwin once, even here visibly crossing the line before ball is bowled he had to say – "I don't think I did". Such a clown !

cause it's not easy for a pacer to Mankad a batsman
even after his warning Buttler was leaving crease before the delivery— Kom Red (@Koumred_07) October 14, 2022

Wow….Buttler is like every time I go out to bat, as a bowler it is your responsibility to remind me that I could be run out if I leave the crease early

A captain of an international team needs to be reminded every game about a basic rule that he can not leave the non-striker’s crease before the bowler delivers.. is this a joke??
