Entrepreneur Glorifies Overwork Saying He’d Love To Work 26 Hrs/Day, Twitter ‘Grinds’ Him

There is no doubt that work plays an important role in our lives, while it gives us identification in the society, it is also a medium for us to earn money and live a good life. However, this is also true that family and personal life of a person should also be given importance and there has to be a balance between the personal life and professional life of a person.

Though many research studies along with medical and health experts have again and again reiterated that working for more than 45 hours/week can be detrimental for a person’s health, we can see many people boast about working for long hours. It has also been found in a study that those who work for long hours are less productive than those who work for 8-9 hours per day. Other than this, work fatigue can lead to poor health and a person can suffer from various health issues including heart problems, even World Health Organization has warned that working for more than 55 hours/week can result in serious health issues.

Having talked about the working hours, one thing that we have to accept is that an entrepreneur is far more busy than the employees of his company and he needs to devote more time towards work but still we can’t deny the importance of balance between personal and professional lives.

Recently Raj Shamani, founder of an entrepreneurship podcast and keynote speaker who enjoys a good following on the social media networks stated something which was not liked by the majority of his followers and it was related to working hours. Raj Shamani tweeted, “If there were 25 hours a day, I’d still want to work 26 hours. It’s not that I am a workaholic, I just f*cking love the grind”.
