“We’ve Lost Out On AB. You’ll Be Playing,” DK Tells Virat His First Conversation With RCB
The veteran Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik is performing really well in the IPL 2022 and he seems to be a completely different cricketer in this season. DK who has earlier led Kolkata Knight Riders is playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2022 and it won’t be wrong to say that he has played an important role in his team’s win in all the four matches that RCB has won out of six matches that it has played.
In the last match of RCB which was against Delhi Capitals, Dinesh Karthik played a superb knock of 66 runs not out for which he played only 34 deliveries and his innings included 5 fours and 5 sixes. Till now, the wicketkeeper-batsman has scored 197 runs in six innings at staggering strike rate of 209 and he has been hitting a boundary on every third ball played by him.
After the win against DC, Dinesh Karthik in a chat with Virat Kohli revealed the conversation that he had with the RCB coach Sanjay Bangar which helped him in understanding his role and then he prepared himself according to that. DK who is bought by RCB for Rs. 5.5 crore states that there is always a small-term goal and a big-term goal as well. He says that for him, the small-term goal is to perform well for RCB and a lot of credit for this goes to the RCB backroom staff.
The former skipper of KKR stated that the day he was bought by RCB, he got a call from the RCB coach Sanjay Bangar who told him that he would be playing the role of a finisher. Bangar further told him that RCB had lost out to AB de Villiers as he announced retirement from all forms of cricket and it was impossible to replace him with someone who is half good as the South African legend so they would bring 2-3 people who would try to fulfill his role because AB is really good.
DK said that after the call, he took it upon himself to understand as to what he really needed to do and he had been practicing for very long for fulfilling his short-term goal.
RCB hasn’t won an IPL title even once despite having a great team for most of the seasons but this time, the RCB fans are really very hopeful that their team will certainly win the IPL as DK is playing superb, Virat Kohli has no pressure of captaincy and Faf du Plessis is putting up a great show as a skipper.
