“He Is The Find Of IPL2022,” P Chidambaram & Twitter In Awe Of Umran Malik’s Smashing Yorker

Sunrisers Hyderabad was going pretty strong after winning its consecutive 5 matches out of 7 that it played but its winning streak came to end as Gujarat Titans defeated SRH in a match which was played yesterday at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Despite the fact that GT won this match, the real star of the match was SRH pacer Umran Malik who registered his best bowling figures of the tournament.

The young SRH pacer was literally on fire as he dismissed 5 batsmen of GT in his 4 overs and gave away only 25 runs. There was a time when GT had a good control on the match but Umran Malik who was introduced in the 8th over after the powerplay sent Shubman Gill back to dug-out with his 144 Kmph delivery. Umran came back in the 10th over and hit the GT skipper Hardik Pandya on shoulder and then he got Pandya dismissed on a bouncer.

Umran Malik was again brought back for bowling in the 14th over of the GT innings and he left everyone thrilled after he bowled out Wriddhiman Saha with his lethal 153 kmph Yorker. This was certainly one of the best Yorkers bowled in the tournament till now and what made it more special was that Umran Malik celebrated the wicket in his coach Dale Steyn’s style. The former South African pacer was also left a little surprised after seeing Umran Malik’s delivery on which he dismissed Saha. In his final over, Umran once again wreaked havoc on the GT batters as he bowled David Miller and Abhinav Manohar and took his first fifer. Though SRH lost the match, Umran Malik was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his superb bowling.

Umran Malik’s sensational bowling left everyone stunned and the micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with reactions. Not just the cricket fans, cricketers and former cricketers but the Congress politician P Chidambaram also got enthralled with the bowling of Umran Malik and expressed his emotions on Twitter.

P Chidambaram wrote, “The Umran Malik hurricane is blowing away everything in its way. The sheer pace and aggression is a sight to behold. After today’s performance, there can be no doubt that he is the find of this edition of IPL”.

In another tweet, the Congress leader asked the BCCI to provide an exclusive coach for him and induct him in team India. He tweeted, “The BCCI should give him an exclusive coach and quickly induct him into the national team”.

As far as the match is concerned, the toss was won by the Gujarat team and Junior Pandya decided to bowl first. SRH put up a score of 195/6 on the board with the help of brilliant knocks of Abhishek Sharma (65 runs, 42 balls, 6 fours & 3 sixes) and Aiden Markram (56 runs, 40 balls, 2 fours & 3 sixes). In response, GT got a good start as Wriddhiman Saha (68 runs, 38 balls, 11 fours & 1 six) and Shubman Gill (22 runs, 24 balls, 1 four & 1 six) produced a partnership of 69 runs for the first wicket stand. Though Umran Malik made things very difficult for the GT batters, still Rahul Tewatia (40 runs not out, 21 balls, 4 fours & 2 sixes) and Rashid Khan (31 runs not out, 11 balls, 4 sixers) played some great cricket and managed to take their team home as the winner.
