We Indians are quite fortunate that we have some really good and competitive business leaders who have established businesses which are contributing to the growth and development of the country.
Mukesh Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries is one of those business magnets and he has taken his father’s legacy to a great level with his hard-work, determination and dedication. He is currently the richest person of Asia (as per an estimate taken in August 2023) and 13th richest person of the world.
While Mukesh Ambani is famous all over the world because of his businesses, his wife Nita Ambani is quite famous for her philanthropy work and she is also quite active in the cricket world as she is co-owner of the IPL team Mumbai Indians which has won the IPL title 5 times.
Mukesh and Nita got married in the year 1985 and they are proud parents of two sons and a daughter – while Akash and Isha are twins, Anant is their younger son. There is an interesting story behind their marriage as well – Nita was born in a middle-class family and the name of her parents was Ravindrabhai Dalal and Purnima Dalal. Nita was fond of dancing and she started learning Bharatnatyam from a very young age. She got the job of a dancing teacher in a school and she also kept performing on stage during events. During one such dance performance, she was noticed by Mukesh Ambani’s father Dhirubhai Ambani who felt that Nita would be perfect as his daughter-in-law. Interestingly, when Dhirubhai Ambani called Nita for the first time to talk to her, she hung up the phone, thinking that someone was playing a prank on her.
However, Dhirubhai managed to talk to Nita and her family. Mukesh and Nita instantly felt that connection after their first meeting and soon they got married. Before marriage, Nita had put only one condition for marriage, she said that she would like to continue working even after marriage and the Ambani family had no problem with it.
