Dinesh Karthik Talks About RCB Fans, Calls Them Incredible But Also Reveals The Dark Side

Dinesh Karthik, the Indian cricketer who is currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2024 has opened up about the fan base of RCB and called it incredibly loyal.

DK, as his fans love to call him, has played for six franchises in his IPL career – Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals now), Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings Xi Punjab (Punjab Kings now), Gujarat Lions (defunct) and RCB.

During a chat with Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik talked about both good and bad sides of having a loyal fan base. DK called RCB fans as loyalists and said that they are actually family and that applies in the good as well as the bad manner. Talking about the good manner, Dinesh Karthik said that when he goes out on the field, they cheer so much as if he is the greatest player on the planet and they won’t give up on their players at any cost.

DK said that RCB fans will fight every person who slams or criticizes RCB cricketers but if he doesn’t play well, they will abuse him on a personal level, silently in his DMs every day. DK further said that an RCB fan will go hard not only on him but also on his family and each and every person who is in his life but for the outside world, the fan will never give up on him or any other RCB player.

DK praised the fan base of RCB and said that he has played for many IPL teams but the fan base of RCB is just unreal. He said that all the teams have fans but RCB has incredible fans.

As far as RCB’s performance in the IPL 2024 is concerned, the history is repeating itself and they are once again going through a bad phase and it seems that the 16-year long wait of fans for the IPL trophy won’t get over in this season. RCB is at the ninth position in the points table with just 1 win in 5 matches and they need to improve considerably if they want to play in the play-offs otherwise RCB cricketers might be abused by their fans once again.
