Harry Brook has made it clear that playing for England remains his biggest priority, even if it means missing out on franchise cricket opportunities around the world. He spoke about his priorities after being named the Player of the Series following England’s three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, where he scored 170 runs. He said his main goal is to play as much cricket as possible for England and remain fully fit and prepared for international matches.

Harry Brook currently avoids franchise leagues around the world, with the Men’s Hundred in England being the only exception. According to him, this decision allows him to focus on his international career and stay ready for England.

Harry Brook has previously played one season each in the Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League and Indian Premier League. He also entered the IPL 2025 auction and was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.25 crore. However, the England batter withdrew before the start of the season and was subsequently handed a two-year suspension from the IPL. He was eligible to register for the 2027 IPL auction but his latest comments suggest that a return to the tournament may not happen.

After England comfortably defeated Sri Lanka in the third T20I at Old Trafford, Harry Brook also praised his teammates for their performances throughout the series. He gave special recognition to Sonny Baker who was named the Player of the Match after recording figures of 2 for 17 in 3.5 overs.

Harry Brook highlighted Sonny Baker’s performance in the powerplay, pointing out that the youngster bowled three overs in the powerplay in two matches while keeping the scoring under control and also taking wickets. He also praised Liam Dawson and Jos Buttler, while stressing that several players had stepped up during the series, particularly those who had not received many opportunities previously.

Harry Brook added that England had adapted well to the conditions, with each game presenting a different challenge. He felt the team had handled those changing conditions effectively throughout the series.
