Mohammed Shami and other senior players have been rested by the team management as they are not taking part in the ongoing 5-match T20I series against Australia.
Mohammed Shami was the highest wicket-taker in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as he ended the tournament with 24 wickets despite the fact that he was not a part of the playing eleven in the first four matches. He got the chance to play only after Hardik Pandya got injured in the match against Bangladesh and there is no denying the fact that he made the most of the opportunity which he got.
Mohammed Shami had also met an accident in the year 2018 when he was travelling from Dehradun to New Delhi in a car and he suffered multiple injuries including minor head injuries for which he got stitches in head.
India may have lost the final of the World Cup 2023 to Australia but Indian cricket fans will always remember Mohammed Shami’s performance in the tournament and now he has gained further praise for showing humanity in the times when people prefer to walk or drive away even after seeing people lying injured on the road.
