Asif Takes A U-Turn After Being Reminded Of “Don’t Think Virat Kohli Can Make Comeback” Remark

The Indian cricket fans are pretty hopeful that Virat Kohli will score a century in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, however he has once again failed in making a big score in the third test match which is being played at Holkar Stadium. The Indian team needed its best test batter to fire in the second innings as India was trailing by 88 runs but Virat Kohli got out on the score of just 13 runs. In the first innings, the former Indian skipper scored 22 runs and it is nearly three years now that the charismatic cricketer hasn’t scored a century in the purest format of the game.

While Virat Kohli has managed to get his form back in the white-ball format, he hasn’t been able to make a big score in test cricket despite being looking in good touch on few occasions. When he was going through a rough patch, there were many who talked about his form and hoped that he returned to form soon but few people felt that Virat Kohli would not be able to make a comeback and one of them was Mohammad Asif, the former Pakistani cricketer.

Earlier on a YouTube channel, Mohammad Asif said that Virat Kohli is a bottom-hand cricketer and he is playing well because of his good fitness levels but once his form declines, he won’t be able to make a comeback.

Recently when the Pakistani cricketer was reminded of his statement when he appeared on Salman Butt’s YouTube channel, Mohammad Asif refused to admit that he said it would be impossible for Virat Kohli to make a comeback, instead he insisted on saying that at that time, he stated a comeback would be difficult for Virat after his form declines.

Mohammad Asif further states that it is difficult for a bottom-hand player to make a comeback, especially at the age of 31-32 years but it is not impossible. He adds that it is easy for upper-hand players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Babar Azam, etc. to recover after going through a lean patch because they are more fluent and this is the reason because of which they find it easy to make a comeback. Asif concludes by calling Virat as his favourite player and adds that he loves to watch Kohli’s batting.

Let’s hope that Virat Kohli scores a century in the fourth test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 which will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
