“Getting To No.1 Spot Doesn’t Happen Overnight,” Sachin Backs Team India Amid Heavy Criticism

The humiliating manner in which the Indian team has taken an exit from the just concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has left many Indian cricket fans heartbroken as they were expecting their team to win the World Cup this time. There is no denying the fact that the Indian squad has been performing well in the bilateral series but as far as multi-nation or ICC events are concerned, it was only in 2013 when India won the ICC Champions Trophy and since then, the Indian team is struggling to break the jinx.

India started its campaign pretty well as it defeated arch-rival Pakistan in the first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and later went on to win its 4 out of 5 matches in the Super 12 stage. The Indian team faced England in the semi-finals and lost the match but what hurt fans the most was the manner in which England literally crushed the Indian side. India scored 168 at the loss of 6 wickets and undoubtedly it was a competitive total but England openers achieved the target in just 16 overs and Indian bowlers couldn’t dismiss even a single English batter.

Indian fans are very annoyed with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma because they both failed in giving a good start to the team in the whole tournament because of which the middle-order faced pressure and found it difficult to score runs. Rahul Dravid was also on the radar of many angry fans because so many experiments were done in his tenure but after the Asia Cup, India once again failed in bringing results.

While Twitter was flooded with reactins criticizing the Indian squad, the former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar supported the team with a tweet which read, “A coin has two sides, so does life. If we celebrate our team’s success like our own then we should be able to take our team’s losses too… In life, they both go hand in hand. #INDvsENG”

Recently while speaking in an interview, Sachin once again supported the Indian team, though he also accepted that the semi-final match against England was very disappointing. He added that it’s true the Indian team did not put up a good score on the board as 168 at Adelaide Oval was not enough because the dimensions of the ground are very different and the side boundaries as pretty short as well. Little Master went on to say that we were not able to dismiss any English batter and suffered a bad defeat in the tough game.

However, he also supported the team by saying that the Indian squad has played some really good cricket over the time as getting the number 1 spot is not an easy thing and it doesn’t happen in one night. Sachin further said that the team should not be judged on the basis of only this performance as the players also don’t like to go out and fail. He concluded by saying that there are ups and downs in sports and we should stand with the team.
