“Chaar Filmein Hongi Jo Chali Hongi,” Says Kartik Aaryan On South Vs Bollywood Movies Debate
Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan is all set for the release of his next movie “Freddy” which is going to release on December 2 on a digital platform. The movie is directed by Shashanka Ghosh and stars Alaya F in the female lead.
Recently, the actor gave an interview in which he talked about his last release “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” that was a big hit on the box-office. There is no denying the fact that 2022 has been a very bad year for Bollywood as audiences have hesitated from visiting cinema halls or rather we should say that the Bollywood movies failed in pulling audiences to theatres. Many Bollywood movies failed this year and in the interview, Kartik said that his movie “BB2” opened the gates in the times when no other movie was working on the box-office. Not just this, it was “BB2” which brought Housefull board back in the theatres.
Kartik Aaryan also opens up on the north-south debate as many people are of the opinion that there is a considerable change in the taste of north Indian audiences and they are now inclined more towards southern movies than Bollywood movies. According to Kartik, the discussion should be about good movies working on the box-office rather than north-south movies. He says that it is an Indian movie which either performs well on the box-office or doesn’t perform. He adds that this debate has been going on for quite a long time now but after “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” and “Drishyam 2”, the discussion has slowed down.
As per Kartik Aaryan, whenever the discussion on north-south movies starts, people talk about only four movies which have actually performed but they try to show as if a race is going on.
In his words “They do not talk about the films that do not work, but in this North vs South, they highlight only those that worked. Chaar filmein hongi jo chali hongi actual mein but they highlight as if it’s a race going on.”
If we talk about Bollywood movies, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”, “The Kashmir Files”, “Drishyam 2”, “Gangubai Kathiawadi” and “Brahmastra” have worked well on the box-office and as far as the southern movies are concerned, “RRR”, “KGF: Chapter 2”, “Kantara” and “Ponniyan Selvan:I” have earned great.
Kartik Aaryan was already making headlines after the news of him working in “Hera Pheri 3” went public and now there are reports that he is going to replace Akshay Kumar in the sequel of “Awara Paagal Deewana” as well. Many have started calling him a reprised version of Akshay Kumar and the best choice to replace the “Baby” star in the sequels.
Do you also agree with Kartik Aaryan that north-south debate is now getting blurred? Let us know your opinion in this regard.
