The Asia Cup 2022 is a very important tournament for all the cricketing nations that are participating in it because it is a platform where they can assess their preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup which is going to take place in October in Australia. While the Indian team is the defending champions, it is also the favorites to win the Asia Cup 2022 and there is no denying the fact that it is a very important tournament for the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
The former skipper has been going through a rough patch for a long time and has failed in touching the three digit mark since 2019 across all the formats. While the IPL 2022 was also not very successful for him, he failed in making a mark in the England tour as well and it was the first time that he was not able to cross the 20 runs mark in six innings. Virat Kohli was rested for the West Indies and Zimbabwe tours and it is almost after a month that he is making a comeback in the international cricket.
Though the coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma have completely backed Virat Kohli and earlier the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has also supported the former RCB skipper, recently Dada has made a statement which has not gone well with fans of the Delhi cricketer.
Sourav Ganguly states that Virat Kohli needs to score runs not just for the country but for himself too. Soon fans of Virat started trolling Ganguly who is touted as one of the most successful Indian skippers of all times.

The relations between Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly are said to be not on good terms especially after Virat Kohli was removed from the Indian ODI team’s captaincy. Virat wanted to lead India in ODI and test matches after leaving captaincy of the T20I team but the BCCI had other plans and the manner in which Kohli was removed from the ODI captaincy was not liked by his fans.
We have heard a lot about what happened during that period and the captaincy saga but as of now, the Indian cricket team needs to pay all the attention on tomorrow’s match in the Asia Cup which it will play against Pakistan. Let’s just hope that Virat Kohli gets his touch back in the Asia Cup otherwise there will be many who will demand his ouster from the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup and this statement from Sourav Ganguly can be called an indication that they can’t wait much now.
