He added that, given Ishan’s performances over the past year or so, the two do not need to spend much time discussing pitch conditions or other factors while batting together. Instead, they focus on enjoying each other’s batting and complementing one another’s strengths.

Their understanding was clearly visible against West Indies, as both the players made valuable contributions to India’s aggressive start. Abhishek Sharma played a blistering knock of 69 runs off just 30 balls, while Ishan Kishan scored 37 runs off 18 deliveries. Their partnership provided India with the momentum needed to post a challenging total of 223.

West Indies fought hard in the chase but could manage only 209/7, allowing India to secure a 14-run victory and take a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series. The fourth T20I will be played in Hyderabad on October 14.
