Meanwhile, in the ongoing ODI series, India has already secured the series victory after winning the second match by four wickets at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Rohit Sharma led the charge with a stunning return to form, scoring 119 runs off 90 balls. Shubman Gill provided solid support with 60 runs, while Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel contributed valuable knocks of 44 and 41 runs, respectively, ensuring India’s triumph.

On the bowling front, Ravindra Jadeja was the standout performer in the first innings, finishing with impressive figures of 3/35. This marked the second consecutive match in which he claimed three wickets, highlighting his excellent rhythm and form ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. His consistency has bolstered India’s bowling attack, making him a key asset as the team prepares for future challenges.

Virat Kohli, who had missed the first ODI due to a right knee injury, made his return to the squad but had an unfortunate outing, managing just five runs before being dismissed by England’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid. Despite this setback, his presence in the lineup remains crucial as India builds momentum for upcoming tournaments.

With the series already decided, the third ODI provides an opportunity for India to test players who have been on the bench, allowing them valuable game time ahead of the highly anticipated ICC event. India’s matches, including the knockout stages, are set to take place in Dubai, while other fixtures not involving India will be hosted in Pakistan.

The upcoming match in Ahmedabad could serve as an important platform for fine-tuning the squad and ensuring key players find their form before the prestigious tournament.
