We have heard from many religious gurus, motivational speakers, etc. that we should always help those who are not able to return the favor and people who perfectly fit into this category are beggars as they are poor and needy and they barely make their ends meet.
However, the situation has changed considerably over the past few years, now begging has become quite organised with mafias entering the segment. It has also increased crime in the society as kids are kidnapped and the kidnappers make them handicap so that they earn money for them by begging. Though the government is trying its best to tackle the begging mafia, still a lot remains to be done in this regard.
Surprisingly begging has become a very lucrative career for those who are not working with any mafia and one such example is this female beggar from Indore.
As per the reports, the female beggar from Indore earned around Rs. 2.25 lakh in the last 45 days just by begging on the streets of India’s cleanest city. The woman beggar sent Rs. 1 lakh to her native home in Rajasthan where her two kids are living with their grandparents. While she spent Rs. 50K on her personal expenses, the amount of Rs. 50K was invested in a fixed deposit.
If you are already in a state of shock after knowing the earnings of this female beggar, then let us tell you that her annual income has been estimated to be around Rs. 20 lakh and she is not the only one who begs in her family, her husband and her 8 years old daughter are also involved in this profession. Her daughter earns around Rs. 600 by begging for just a couple of hours and when the woman was caught by the administration, she had Rs. 19,200 which she earned in a week. Her family owns land, home, smartphones, various electronic items and other valuable things.
The female beggar came into limelight after she got caught by Indore District Administration as they are running a campaign for making Indore a beggar-free city. As per reports, the beggars who are being found in city are getting rescued and rehabilitated and the woman’s 8 years old daughter has also been sent to childcare home.
As far as the woman beggar is concerned, a police case has been filed against her and she is having some issues with the administration.
