Wasim Jaffer Trolls Mitchell Marsh For Not Taking DRS After Judgement Error Against LSG
Delhi Capitals started its IPL 2022 campaign pretty well but then it lost momentum and now it is sitting at the sixth position with 4 wins in the 9 matches that the team has played. However, it could have won its ninth match which was against the new IPL team Lucknow Super Giants if DC batter Mitchell Marsh would have taken the DRS and stayed on the crease for some more time.
The match between DC and LSG was played yesterday at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and LSG chose to bat first after winning the toss. LSG posted a good total of 195 runs on the score board with the help of beautiful knocks of skipper KL Rahul (77 runs, 51 balls, 4 fours & 5 sixes) and Deepak Hooda (52 runs, 34 balls, 6 fours & 1 six).
DC had a very disappointing start as it lost both the openers Prithvi Shaw (5) and David Warner (3) quite early but Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant stabilized the innings and also scored runs at a pretty good pace. Mitchell Marsh was going very good as he scored 37 runs in 20 balls and his innings included 3 fours and the same number of sixes.
When the 30 years old Aussie cricketer was at the score of 37, the LSG wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock appealed for caught behind on the bowling of Krishnappa Gowtham. However, the replay showed that Marsh was not out as the ball didn’t touch the bat but till then, he was back in the DC dugout. He could have appealed for a review as DC was left with reviews and if he had stayed on the crease for some more time, things could have been different for the Delhi franchise.
Soon Twitterati started reacting to the incident and people began to troll Mitchell Marsh. There were also some who slammed the umpires for poor level of umpiring and here are some of the selected reactions:

One more example of Poor umpiring!
If a team is doing appeal,it doesn't mean you have to give out! If you're not sure then go to third umpire! #mitchellmarsh departed even when he was not out.#DCvsLSG #LSGvDC #IPL2022— mythoughts (@anonymous_yaar) May 1, 2022

The #Mitchellmarsh dismissal has again given rise to the discussion – do a batsman always know whether or not he has hit the ball. #IPL2022

However, the best response was from the former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer who used a still from Sanjay Dutt starrer “Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.” and the image had “Tu Aussie Hai Na?” (Are you sure you are an Aussie?)”and the caption was, “Ponting to Marsh who walked without nicking”.

Wasim Jaffer referred to the fact that the Australian cricketers are pretty competitive and they do not give up easily even in the toughest of the situations.
Coming back to the match, the DC skipper Rishabh Pant scored 44 runs (30 balls, 7 fours & 1 six) before getting out, though Rovman Powell (35 runs, 21 balls, 3 fours & 2 sixes) and Axar Patel (42 runs not out, 24 balls, 1 four & 3 sixes) tried their best, still DC fell short by 6 runs and LSG registered its 7th win, grabbing the second spot on the IPL points table.
