A Train Used To Stop At Rampur On Sundays So That Staff & Passengers Could Watch Ramayan

Ramayan is one of the most loved and most watched serials of the Indian television of all times and it is not just the re-run which got the great response from the audiences, the first telecast of Ramayan also garnered a huge fan following and nobody wanted to miss even a single episode.

Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan was first aired on Doordarshan in the year 1987 and today we are going to tell you about an interesting incident about which Prem Sagar, son of Ramanand Sagar, has written in the book entitled “An Epic Life: Ramanand Sagar — from Barsaat to Ramayan”.

It is written in the book that the staff of a train which travelled from Patna, the capital city of Bihar, to the national capital Delhi used to halt the train at Rampur on every Sunday despite the fact that the train had no stoppage scheduled over there. The staff and the passengers used to watch the episode of Ramayan and after that, the train resumed its journey.

The re-run of Ramayan during the lockdown broke all the records as it received the highest viewership of 77 million which is pretty higher than the highest viewership received by The Big Bang Theory and Game of Thrones. The actors of Ramayan are also very happy with the response that they have got as social media was full of praises for them and appreciated the manner in which they played their characters to the perfection.

Nowadays, Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan is being aired on the Star Plus channel and it is again getting quite a good response.
