When Sachin Tendulkar retired from cricket, Indians were grief stricken. One thought which disturbed everyone was that there will be no one to make the cricket that interesting and to match his potential.
The Indians got a relief when Virat Kohli proved his potential and proved himself to be a yet another great batsman born in the country. Apart from being a Top Batsman of India and also in the world, Kohli has broken several big records.
Recently during the 2nd ODI match against West Indies, Virat scored an outstanding hundred which made him a hero of the country. Centuries are nothing new for Virat but this one was special as he broke so many records with it.
1. He became the fastest player to cross 10,000 runs breaking the ultimate record of Sachin Tendulkar. A feat that was achieved by Tendulkar in 259 matches, Kohli did it in 205 matches.
2. Kohli is also close to cross his own record of making most centuries in a calendar year.
3. He has also made fastest 1000 runs in a calendar year.
