Sikkim’s First Airport Is A Treat For Eyes. The Pictures Are Too Good To Miss
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the first airport in Sikkim today, work on which had started 9 years ago. The North East Indian state has finally got its much-awaited airport and it’s a great news for the whole country.
The pictures of the first Sikkim airport are out and it’s simply treat for the eyes. The location is nothing less than a dream world and fills your mind with happiness.
The Pakyong airport is spread over some 200 acres of land atop a hill and at an altitude of 4,500 feet above sea level. Made with a lot of efforts and intelligence, the airport is being considered an engineering marvel. Reportedly, the cost of construction of the airport is about 605 crores.
The Pakyong airport is set to start from 4th October and will connect Guwahati and Kolkata initially. Situated just 60 km away from the Indo-China border it will soon link Sikkim to Bhutan, Nepal, Bhutan and Thailand as well. Have a look at the photos-
