IPL 2019 Starting Date Revealed & This Time It Has Changed From Usual
The IPL 2018 has just ended with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) winning the title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the finals. The craze of IPL2018 is still on as the fans of CSK are celebrating the victory and it is kind of special for them because CSK made a comeback after 2 years of ban.
As per reports, the dates of IPL2019 have been finalized and it will start on March 29 in 2019.
Every year, IPL starts in the first or second week of April and finishes in May end but next year it won’t be possible as ICC World Cup will start from May 30.
Next year we may not see some big names in the IPL, as they will be taking rest before ICC World Cup.
The reports further add that BCCI may need to change venue of IPL because the general elections are scheduled around March next year. This may force BCCI to shift the tournament completely or partially to some other country as it happened in 2009 and 2014 when IPL was organized in South Africa and UAE, respectively.
However, there are reports that the present government is thinking of holding early elections and they may take place by the end of 2018. If this happens, IPL can take place in India only as in this case, there will be no problem of security forces.
Additionally, BCCI has to make sure that it follows the guidelines of Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) which has stated that there should be a gap of minimum 15 days between IPL and other international tournament.
Let’s see where IPL will be played in 2019.
