India Still Has A Chance Of Playing WTC Final Even After Losing 4th Test To Aussies, Here’s How

Today the Indian cricket fans are highly disappointed as the Australian cricket team secured a commanding 184-run victory over India in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Chasing a target of 340 runs in 92 overs on the final day, India was bowled out for 155 in 79.1 overs. Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored for India with a valiant 84 off 208 balls but received little support from the other end.

India Still Has A Chance Of Playing WTC Final Even After Losing 4th Test To Aussies, Here’s How - RVCJ Media

India’s experienced trio of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli failed to make any impact once again, with scores of 9 (40 balls), 0 (5 balls) and 5 (29 balls), respectively, all falling in the first session. The loss in front of more than 50,000 fans at the MCG dealt a blow to India’s chances of qualifying for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final.

India, currently ranked third on the points table with a 52.78% points percentage (PCT), can still qualify for the final at Lord’s against South Africa next year. To do so, they must defeat Australia in the fifth Test starting January 3, 2025, at the Sydney Cricket Ground and rely on Sri Lanka to win their two-match Test series against Australia 2-0 or 1-0, beginning January 29, 2025, in Galle.

Under this scenario, India would finish the WTC 2023-25 cycle with a 55.26% PCT, ahead of Australia (maximum 53.51% PCT) and Sri Lanka (maximum 53.85% PCT). However, if India loses or draws the New Year Test, their hopes of qualifying for a third consecutive WTC final will be over.

India Still Has A Chance Of Playing WTC Final Even After Losing 4th Test To Aussies, Here’s How - RVCJ Media

Meanwhile, South Africa secured their place in the WTC final for the first time by defeating Pakistan by two wickets in the first Test of their two-match series at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Sunday, December 29.

Sri Lanka defeating Australia by 2-0 or 1-0 seems impossible which means that India is almost out of the race of playing the World Test Championship final. Only time will tell what happens, till then let’s wait and watch!

Transform Your Living Space: Wall Colour Combinations and Interior Design Ideas

Choosing the right living room wall colour combination is essential to creating a space that reflects your style and enhances comfort. The colours you select can influence the room’s atmosphere, mood, and overall design. By understanding the impact of colour psychology and combining hues thoughtfully, you can transform your living room into a stylish and welcoming retreat.

Understanding Colour Psychology

Before exploring colour combinations, it’s important to consider how different colours affect our emotions. Warm colours like red, orange, and yellow create energy, warmth, and excitement, making them ideal for lively spaces.

Conversely, cool colours like blue, green, and violet promote relaxation and tranquility, creating a calm and serene environment. Neutral tones, such as white, grey, and beige, offer versatility and timeless appeal, providing a backdrop that complements various design styles.

Classic Colour Combinations

Certain colour combinations never go out of style for a sophisticated and timeless living room. White and beige, for instance, is a classic duo that creates an airy and elegant atmosphere. It works well in traditional and contemporary settings, making it a versatile choice for any design theme.

Grey and white is another combination that perfectly balances modernity and calmness, ideal for those who prefer sleek, minimalist interiors. For a nautical-inspired vibe, navy blue and white offer a bold yet timeless pairing that adds depth and sophistication to the space.

Bold and Vibrant Combinations

If you want to make a statement, bold and vibrant colour combinations can energise your living room. Red and black create a dramatic and luxurious atmosphere, making them perfect for contemporary spaces.

To infuse playful energy, turquoise and yellow can work beautifully together, creating a bright and lively space. For a modern, industrial look, try pairing orange with grey. The warmth of orange is balanced by the coolness of grey, resulting in a stylish and dynamic contrast.

Earthy and Natural Tones

Earthy colours are an excellent choice for a more grounded and serene ambience. Green and brown evoke a natural, calming environment, ideal for those who want to bring a bit of the outdoors inside. Beige and olive green offer a more sophisticated, understated look, perfect for creating a cosy and inviting living room. Similarly, terracotta and cream work well together, adding warmth and Mediterranean charm to your home.

Monochromatic Colour Schemes

Monochromatic colour schemes use different shades of the same colour to create a cohesive and refined look. Shades of grey, for instance, can give your living room a contemporary, sleek appearance. Similarly, shades of blue can help establish a cool, tranquil vibe perfect for a restful retreat. Neutral tones, such as beige, cream, and white, can also be used in a monochromatic scheme to create a timeless and elegant space.

Conclusion

Selecting the right wall colour combination for your living room is a key factor in shaping the overall atmosphere of your home. Whether you prefer classic, bold, earthy, or monochromatic tones, each colour palette offers unique benefits that can influence mood and style.

By understanding colour psychology, paying attention to lighting and texture, and coordinating with your existing decor, you can create a harmonious and inviting space that reflects your personality and enhances the comfort of your living environment. Thoughtful colour choices can transform your living room into a beautiful, functional space for relaxation and socialising.

Children More Aware of Smartphone Impact Than Parents, 8 in 10 Advocate for Parental Controls: vivo Survey

In an era where technology was envisioned to bring people closer, the reality paints a different picture. The overuse of smartphones, while connecting us virtually, is creating emotional and relational distances within families. This paradox underscores the responsibility of brands like vivo to raise awareness about the need for mindful smartphone usage.

A recent survey by vivo, in collaboration with CyberMedia Research (CMR), sheds light on how excessive smartphone usage is straining parent-child relationships in India. Parents were found to spend over five hours daily on their smartphones, while children averaged more than four hours. This has led to 66% of parents and 56% of children noticing negative changes in their relationships. Furthermore, 73% of parents and 69% of children acknowledged conflicts stemming from device overuse.

Interestingly, children were found to be more conscious of the adverse effects of smartphones. About 64% of children reported feeling addicted to their devices, while 80% advocated for parental controls on their parents’ smartphone use. Additionally, nearly 90% of children expressed skepticism about the invention of popular social media apps.

These findings stress the importance of fostering balanced digital habits and nurturing more meaningful family interactions that go beyond screens.

About the Campaign Film

The campaign film tells the poignant story of a child who decides to dress up as a mobile phone for a school fancy dress competition. When asked why, the child innocently explains that it’s the only way to get his father’s attention. This tender moment reveals the emotional cost of excessive smartphone usage, highlighting how it leaves parents with little time for those who need it the most – their children.

In a powerful conclusion, the father switches off his phone, driving home the campaign’s core message: disconnect to reconnect.
