There is a lot of competition in the Indian cricketing circles nowadays and it has become very difficult for a player to make it to the national playing eleven. There are many talented players who have performed superbly in the domestic cricket but they haven’t been able to get a place in the Indian team.

If we talk about the recent times, Sarfaraz Khan and Abhimanyu Easwaran are two names who have performed in a great manner in domestic cricket but they were not considered for the West Indies tour by the selectors. Sarfaraz Khan has been in a great form and he scored more than 900 runs in successive Ranji seasons but still he was not selected by the selectors and this led to a huge uproar among the Indian cricket community and cricket fans.

On the other hand, the Saurashtra batter Sheldon Jackson who will turn 37 in September this year is still hopeful of getting a national call. Sheldon Jackson has slammed the selectors many times because he was told that he is a good player but he is over 30 and they are choosing players under 30 yrs of age only.

Recently, Sheldon Jackson appeared in an interview in which he stated that he draws inspiration from Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni. While DK managed to make a comeback in the Indian team at the age of 37 yrs, MS Dhoni led his IPL team Chennai Super Kings to their fifth title win at the age of 41.

Sheldon Jackson says that he gets motivated whenever he sees DK and MSD. Talking about Dinesh Karthik, Sheldon said that he was with the wicketkeeper-batter in Kolkata Knight Riders and has witnessed his transformation and at this stage of his career, DK is a motivation for him.

Sheldon Jackson further says that if he had not been good enough, he wouldn’t have played more than 90 first class matches and his average wouldn’t have been around 50 runs. He adds that a player can make an impact only if he gets a chance, he can’t question anyone else’s selection but he can talk about himself, however he has never called a selector and asked about his non-selection.

Though Sheldon Jackson didn’t play in the IPL 2023, he will be playing in domestic level for Saurashtra and we wish him luck for his future endeavors.

Ganguly Doesnt Agree With Theory Behind India Losing WTC Final Gives Rahanes Example

The Indian cricket team got slammed a lot for losing the World Test Championship final against Australia which was played at the Oval from 7 June to 11 June. This was the second consecutive time that India lost the WTC final, first time it lost to New Zealand and now it lost to Pat Cummins-led side by 209 runs.

Many feel that the reason behind India’s defeat was their lack of preparation and they didn’t have enough time to acclimatize with the conditions of England as they reached there just a week before the final match. There are also some who are of the opinion that the Indian players found it difficult to change their temperament, approach, batting style, etc. after playing the IPL for almost 2 months and this resulted in their weak performance in the WTC final.

However, the former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly completely disagreed with all these talks of the Indian team being unprepared. In an interview, he says that he doesn’t accept this theory as Ajinkya Rahane also played in the IPL 2023 and he performed well not only in the IPL but in the WTC final as well and there were few Aussie cricketers such as David Warner, Pat Cummins, etc. who also played both IPL and WTC final and performed well in both.

Sourav Ganguly further said that the Indian team had enough time for adjusting in the conditions of England and it used to happen earlier as well when players had to play test matches shortly after the ODI series. The former BCCI President goes on to say that the players should have the ability to adjust their technique, style, etc. for a test match even if they have played the IPL for a long time.

All the Indian cricketers except Cheteshwar Pujara were part of the IPL teams, Pujara was in England when the IPL 2023 was being played in India as he was playing for Sussex in county cricket because of which a lot was expected from him in the WTC final but he failed to perform in the important match.

Nikhil Nair is still haunted by his past and dealing with the death of her daughter Riya for which he holds himself responsible. In scenes where he grapples with the guilt while also pursuing the case, he captivates the audience with his impressive theatrical skills. `

Joining the known faces are Meiyang Chang, Adihi Kalkunte and Abhishek Chauhan, all of whom gave stellar performances.

Meiyang Chang shines as Paul Shangpliang, a dedicated member of the Anti-Terror Force (ATF), while Adithi Kalkunte impresses as Ishani Chaudhary, and Abhishek Chauhan of course impeccably portrays adult Shubh Joshi.

The Indian fans are quite hopeful of India winning the World Cup 2023 because India won it last time in 2011 when it was also the host of the tournament. What is making Indian fans more desperate to see their team win the WC2023 is the fact that India hasn’t won any ICC trophy since 2013.

The Indian team broke the 28 years old jinx in 2011 as it won the World Cup under the leadership of MS Dhoni and in the finals, India clashed against Sri Lanka and defeated it by 6 wickets.

Recently Muttiah Muralitharan, the former Sri Lankan spinner who was a part of the Sri Lankan squad which played the 2011 WC final, talked about the final match and also stated how he was sure that MS Dhoni would come to bat instead of Yuvraj Singh.

Batting first, Sri Lanka posted a total of 274/6 on the score board with the help of Mahela Jayawardena’s knock of 103 runs. India’s start was quite poor as Virender Sehwag got out for a duck and Sachin Tendulkar could also manage only 18 runs but Gautam Gambhir stood firmly on the crease and played a superb knock of 97 runs. Virat Kohli also played a knock of 35 runs in this match and when he got out, everyone thought that Yuvraj Singh would come to bat but surprisingly MS Dhoni promoted himself up the order and batted brilliantly to ensure his team won the match.

In the 2011 World Cup, MS Dhoni was going through a bad phase with bat so this decision of coming to bat before Yuvraj Singh who was in great form was a shock for many but in the end, it worked pretty well for India as Dhoni scored 91 runs in that match.

Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar opened up about this decision of MSD coming to bat before Yuvraj in an interview. Little Master stated that it was he who suggested it because he wanted the left-right combination for India as Sri Lanka had two off-spinners. This suggestion was discussed among the senior players and Gary Kirsten, coach of that time, and even MS Dhoni agreed to it.

During the event in which the complete schedule of the ODI World Cup 2023 was released, Muttiah Muralitharan said that he knew Dhoni would come to bat before Yuvraj because he (Mahi) knows how to play him better as they both used to play for the IPL team Chennai Super Kings at that time. Muralitharan said that Yuvraj was the best player of the tournament but he was not comfortable in playing him (Muttiah) and though he was wicketless, he was bowling well.
