Lance Cairns and Chris Cairns, the father-son duo represented New Zealand at the international level and they both played as all-rounders for the country. The former England cricketer Ian Botham dismissed Lance Cairns in both ODIs and test matches as they both played against each other a lot but Ian Botham was able to dismiss Chris Cairns in test match only and that too, only once.

2. Wasim Akram – Lance Cairns & Chris Cairns:

The former Pakistani skipper Wasim Akram who is considered as one of the best pacers of all times has also taken wickets of the father-son duo – Lance Cairns and Chris Cairns. Wasim Akram made his debut in the year 1985 and in the same year, Lance Cairns took retirement. While Wasim Akram dismissed Lance Cairns only once in 1985, he dismissed Chris Cairns many times as they both played against each other numerous times.

3. Mitchell Starc – Shivnarine Chanderpaul & Tagenarine Chanderpaul:

The Australian pacer Mitchell Starc recently became the third bowler to dismiss both father and son after he took the wicket of Tagenarine Chanderpaul when the West Indian team visited Australia for 2-match test series in 2022. Tagenarine Chanderpaul is the eldest son of former West Indian cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul and he made his international debut in the series against Australia. Shivnarine Chanderpaul was dismissed by Mitchell Starc in 2012 and after 10 years, the Australian pacer took the wicket of his son.

DK Takes A Sly Dig At Team Management For Making Deepak Hooda Bat At Middle Order

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid often get slammed for changing the batting order of the team as many former cricketers feel that changing the batting order frequently can have an adverse effect on the form of batters. In the last few months, many batters have been tried at different positions and this hasn’t gone well with a number of former cricketers. Recently, the senior Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik gave his opinion on the change in batting position of Indian cricketer Deepak Hooda who is mainly a top-order batter.

Deepak Hooda made his international T20I debut in the year 2022 and since then in 19 innings, he has batted at six different positions. His T20I half-century came at no. 3 but he has batted the most at no. 6 in which he has scored 73 runs in 6 innings.

During an interview, Dinesh Karthik says that it is really hard to bat consistently at number 5, 6 and 7, especially at 6 and 7. He further takes a dig at the Indian team management by saying that though Deepak Hooda has performed well at no. 3, they feel that he does the same at no. 6 and 7 which is going to be a big challenge for him. DK further says that even in his IPL career excluding his stint with Lucknow Super Giants, Deepak Hooda has mostly batted in the middle order at no. 5 or 6 and hasn’t achieved much success on these positions.

DK further adds that Deepak Hooda thinks himself more of a top-order batter and he got the chance to rediscover himself when he shifted to Rajasthan from Baroda at the domestic level. Dinesh Karthik further says that Hooda likes to play in powerplay and he is someone who likes to control the game but against Sri Lanka, he did pretty well at no. 6 which was certainly a great opportunity for him.

Talking about Jitesh Sharma, DK says that Jitesh Sharma is someone who enjoys batting at number 6 as he has trained himself to bat at this position. Dinesh also adds that though he feels Jitesh Sharma won’t get a chance to play in the ongoing series against New Zealand because Deepak Hooda is already playing at number 6 yet the team management should give a chance to Hooda to play at number 3 if he feels the pressure at no. 6.

Sourav Ganguly Speaks On India’s Chances Of Winning ODI World Cup, Has An Advice For Selectors

Hardik Pandya led Indian team has now taken an unassailable lead in the 3-match T20I series against New Zealand by winning the low-scoring second T20I which was played yesterday at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Earlier the Indian cricket squad whitewashed the visitors in the 3-match ODI series under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and these results have certainly made Indian cricket fans very happy.

However, there is one section of Indian cricket lovers who is critical of team India as they feel that the current team performs well in the bilateral series but when it comes to multi-nation events, this team fails to perform especially in crucial matches.

One reason behind such negative attitude of Indian fans is constant failure of team India to win ICC tournaments whether it is the ODI World Cup, the T20I World Cup or the World Test Championship. The ICC Champions Trophy 2013 was the last ICC tournament which was won by the Indian team under the leadership of MS Dhoni and since then, India has failed in winning any ICC trophy.

Recently, the former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly gave an interview in which he was asked a question regarding team India’s failure in ICC tournaments. In response, he says that the Indian team is quite strong and it has the capability to win the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which is going to take place later this year in India. He adds that India can never be a weak team because there is a huge pool of talent and half of them don’t even get a chance to play for the country. Sourav Ganguly also has an advice for the Indian team management; he states that Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid and the selectors should stick to the same team and play them in the World Cup.

The Indian team has often been slammed for its slow, safe and timid approach in the ICC events, Sourav Ganguly advises the Indian team to play without any baggage, play fearless cricket and not worry about winning or losing the trophy.

The Prince of Kolkata adds that a team which has talented players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, etc. can’t be a bad team.

Dada also talks about his new responsibility as he will be joining the IPL team Delhi Capitals as the director of cricket from the IPL 2023. He states that it is just that he will be donning a new role and he is looking forward to it. Ganguly said that he first worked with DC in 2019 and since then, the team has done pretty well. He talked about skipper Rishabh Pant’s absence from the team because of the injuries that he suffered in a road accident. Dada says that though they will badly miss Rishabh Pant, there is not much that they can do about it and the team still has enough talent to win the IPL2023.

Not many people knew it but the melodious composition “Dheere Jalna” from Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji starrer “Paheli” was also composed by M.M. Keeravani. The movie got released in 2005, it was directed by Amol Palekar and the song was sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal.

9. Jaana Hai (Kasak):

Though this 2005 released movie “Kasak” which starred Lucky Ali and Meera failed on the box-office, songs of the film especially “Jaana Hai” was liked by audiences and it was also composed by M.M. Keeravani.

10. Apne Dhokha Dete Hain (Dhokha):

1. Sir Alastair Cook (England) – 622 Hours:

In his illustrious career of 20 years, he played 164 test matches in which he scored 11,867 runs including 30 centuries and 66 fifties. Shivnarine Chanderpaul batted for nearly 629 hours during his test career which is the highest if we talk about the West Indian cricket fraternity.

3. Jacques Kallis (South Africa) – 640 Hours:

One of the finest all-rounders of all times, the former South African cricketer Jacques Kallis was an integral part of the Proteas test cricket team from 1995 to 2013. He played 166 test matches in which he scored 13,289 runs that include 45 centuries and 58 fifties. During his test career, Jacques Kallis batted for total 640 hours which is the highest among the cricketers who are born outside India.

4. Sachin Tendulkar (India) – 688 Hours:

The former legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is undoubtedly one of the best test batters we have ever seen on the cricket ground. The God of cricket represented the country in test cricket from 1989 to 2013 and during this period, he played 200 test matches in which he scored 15,921 runs and smashed 51 centuries and 68 fifties. Sachin Tendulkar batted for total 688 hours in test cricket which is quite incredible.

5. Rahul Dravid (India) – 736 Hours:

The former Indian cricketer and current head coach of the Indian cricket team was also called “The Wall” by Indian cricket fans as he played many big innings and saved team India from defeats many times. He debuted in 1996 and played test matches for India till 2012; he scored 13,288 runs and there are 36 test centuries and 63 fifties to his name. Rahul Dravid holds the record for batting the most number of hours which is 736 hours and he is the only batter in the cricket world who has gone above the mark of 700 hours.

5 Cricketers Who Won More Than 50 Matches Out Of Their First 75 Matches As A Skipper

Being the captain of a cricket team is a very tough job as it is the captain who has to take the important decisions related to the team as well as a match and if anything goes wrong, he is held responsible for everything.

A good skipper is the one who knows how to utilize his resources properly; he should be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of his players and must have the wisdom to use them in a manner which gives the best results. 1. Ricky Ponting (Australia) – 59 Matches

The former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting made his international debut in the year 1995 and played for the country till 2012. 2. Rohit Sharma (India) – 58 Matches

The current skipper of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma who is considered as one of the finest openers of all times made his international debut in 2007 in white ball cricket but for making debut in red ball cricket, he had to wait till 2013. The cricketer who is the most successful captain of the IPL with 5 title wins was appointed as the skipper of ODI and T20I teams in December 2021 and later on, he replaced Virat Kohli in the test format as well. Rohit Sharma is the second in this list as he has won 58 matches as a skipper out of his 75 matches.

3. Virat Kohli (India) – 54 Matches:

Virat Kohli is not just a great batter but he was a good skipper as well and his stats prove this statement completely correct as he won 54 out of his first 75 matches as a skipper. King Kohli, as his fans love to call him, made his international debut in 2008 in ODIs, in 2010 in T20Is and in 2011 in test matches. Virat was appointed as the skipper of test team in 2014 after MS Dhoni took retirement from the longest format and in 2017, Dhoni transferred his leading responsibility to Virat Kohli in white ball cricket as well.

4. Sarfaraz Ahmed (Pakistan) – 53 Matches:

The Pakistani cricketer made his international debut in 2007 in ODIs and in 2010, he debuted in tests and T20Is. Sarfaraz Ahmed led the Pakistani team in all the formats and he started his captaincy stint quite well as he won 53 out of his first 75 matches as a skipper.

5. . Hansie Cronje (South Africa) – 52 Matches:

The former South African cricketer was banned from international cricket in the year 2000 because of his involvement in the match-fixing scandal. However, the cricketer who lost his life in 2002 due to a plane crash led the South African team in the 1990s and he had a good start to his captaincy career as he won 52 out of the first 75 matches as a captain.

“Everyone Said I Had Issues & I Also Felt That,” Prithvi Shaw Opens Up On His Lean Phase

The young Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw has been called back in the Indian team after a long time as it became very difficult for the selectors to ignore his performances in the domestic cricket. Recently, the Mumbai batter made a record by scoring 379 runs in a Ranji Trophy match against Assam. It is the second highest individual score made by any batter in the history of the Ranji Trophy and it is the highest by any Mumbai cricketer.

Prithvi Shaw had a great start to his test career, he got to play his first test against West Indies in Oct 2018 when he was not even 19 yrs old. He impressed everyone by scoring a century in his debut match and with this hundred, he became the second youngest Indian cricketer to score a century in a test match. However, things went downhill soon and after he failed to deliver against Australia in the first test match, he was dropped from the team and currently, there seems no chance of him getting to play in the Indian test team. Many former cricketers were of the opinion that Prithvi Shaw would not be able to survive in international cricket until and unless he resolved an issue in his batting technique.

There was no problem with Prithvi Shaw’s form as he continued to score runs in domestic cricket and the IPL and now he has been selected for the 3-match T20I series against New Zealand. Ahead of the first T20I against the Kiwis, Prithvi Shaw talked about his debut and the problems which he faced after that in a video posted by the BCCI.

Prithvi Shaw said that the first call-up for the national team was a great moment for him and getting the test cap was a very different feeling. He added that he always wished to play test matches for the country, though there were ups and downs in the journey but it was a learning process and he worked hard for it. Shaw stated that he always tried to remain cool, patient and focused on keeping the routine right because small thing matter a lot in the long run.

The Mumbai batter further said that he played five test matches but after that, he was dropped; everyone said that he had some technical issues and he also felt the same. As per Prithvi Shaw, the first thing that he did was to revisit his basics, earlier he didn’t bat much in nets, max 40-45 minutes but then he started batting for 2 or more hours in nets with his Mumbai coach and also rectified his technique.

He added that the last 18 months have been quite tough for him but there were some people who kept on supporting him even when he was not playing for the country. He goes on to say that Rahul coach and Paras Mhambrey have been supporting him since he was 16 yrs old.

Though Prithvi Shaw did not play in the first T20I against New Zealand which India lost by 21 runs, it will be interesting to see whether he will get the chance to play in the second T20I that will be played tomorrow at Lucknow.

The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has made a great comeback on the big screen as his latest release “Pathaan” has broken many records on the box-office and we are quite sure that numerous other records will be broken soon as the craze for the flick doesn’t seem to end any soon.

However, the “Don” actor is also trending online for one more reason as an online user was not happy with a comment which was made by the King of Romance on the photo of his daughter Suhana.

Suhana Khan, the young actress is going to make her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar directed “The Archies” which is slated to release in 2023. The beautiful girl is already a star and enjoys a huge fan following on social media platforms. Few days ago, she posted an image of herself from an event which she attended in a beautiful black dress.

While many friends and fans of Suhana Khan reacted on the photo by praising her and giving her love, the “Zero” actor wrote, “Too elegant baby… So contrary to the pyjamas you wear around the house!!!”

Suhana Khan also thanked her father for the compliment.

However, this comment by SRK didn’t go well with one Twitter user who shared it on the micro-blogging site Twitter with the caption, “Seriously, I don’t know about you, but what kind of father comments such a thing on his daughter’s photos.”

I think you might be misinterpreting Shahrukh's comment. It sounds like a playful and affectionate remark, not something to be taken otherwise. A father's love for his daughter knows no bounds and it's expressed in many ways.
